Another black wash question....Did you paint the silver on top or on the backside? I assume on top, then the black wash over it, correct?

Im used to painting lexan bodies from the inside so its kinda hard to imagine how you did it, lol.

Also, where did you get the oxy/acetylene torch set?

Great truck!

I actually painted the silver on only the underside and did the black wash on both sides I did a little darker under the bed but it worked almost the same on both.


and I got the acetylene torch from crawler store 2 years ago,the only problem with it was it weighed alot so I made the tanks out of some plastic hobby knife blade cylinders and for the end i used the exhaust tips from the hilux hi lift kit.This made it weigh almost nothing

ok I got some more progress pics

































I still have to make the straps for under the fuel cell








Then i built a new center console armrest/beerholder for them roadsodas









Next on my list will be wheel wells,more interior work then I will start all of the detail work

LOL I just haven't installed the horn yet but when I do its going to play la cookoo racha, You still have time are first comp is in March,It should only take you about an hour for you to build a rig with all your experienceHAHAHA

LOL I hear ya I'm trying to reinforce all my styrene work ,But the yota won't be goig tommorow shes not finished yet after 30 plus hours I had to take a small break the COOK (wife) was getting ready to kill me
