If you use some silicone or liquid electric tape on a hardcase lipo it will be plenty waterproof.. I did this to soft case lipos and it works for quite a while. I does wear of the softcase, but thats because I did the whole battery.. With a hard case you only need to seal around the wires.. A good zippy hardcase is about $20+ about $0.50 worth or sealant, while a max cramps cost $150 .. Do the math

Just got my Honcho a couple hours ago/I've been smiling non-stop for a couple hours, but:

stock Axial 27T,
stock Axial AE-2 ESC,
stock tires and gears,
powered by a 2S Duratrax Onyx 5000mAh 25C LiPo.

Love this thing so far!

3300kv rc4wd outcry brushless system
1.9 rc4wd boggers
5000 40c 2s gens ace lipo

with stock gearing this is way too much power. if you breathe on the throttle too much it will do a flip. ------ any suggestions on gearing?-----------

the tires limited my performance a too. they are great for everything but rocks.
they raised the weight up enough to make it very noticeable. it made it alot more top heavy (i am running stock rims without weights) they are so much bigger than the stock flat irons i have no flex (with a well trimmed axial trail ranger body)

Does anybody run the traxxas xl5 with the titan 12t in a stock honcho? My friend has a stock one with 2.2 tsl swampers and i think its getting too hot with the bigger tires. So we want it faster and waterproof. Also what gearing with this combo?
