| My SCX10 Trail Honcho Trail Ready (TR: Just add batteries)
Here is Axial's latest release, the SCX10 Trail Honcho Trail Ready (TR: Just add batteries). We all know the SCX10 platform by now so I'm just going to go over the differences between the Trail Honcho Trail Ready vs. the Trail Honcho Kit. The first thing I noticed was the Honcho body was pre-painted in OD green similar to my patented Honcho green paint job. Fortunately for Greg it is different enough for me not to take legal action with my undercover agent mini "B". The KIT comes with the same body in clear (not painted). Both come with beadlocks and Proline Flatirons Tires. The Honcho TR comes pre-installed with an Axial AE-1 ESC and 27T motor with 87T spur / 20T pinion. The KIT does not come with electronics. The Honco TR comes with the front bumper lights pre-installed as well as the rear tail lights. The KIT comes the same 14 light buckets but no LED's. Both come with the new HD lockers. The Honcho TR comes with composite plastic links, the KIT comes with aluminum links, both come with the same dual spring rate oil filled shocks. Out of the box this rig is ready for the rocks, the only upgrade I think this rig needs right away is installing a Castle BEC to eliminate the stalling while steering under load that you see with the stock ESC. I will also be swapping out the 20T pinion for a 12T pinion to get more low speed crawling resolution. I'll be taking some outside crawling pics and videos later this week. Nice review John. The biggest thing I see is the plastic links, which I dont see being as much of a problem on the scalers (unless you put Jason's 2 speed kit in it). Good job Axial. |

I've had my silver SCX10 TR for quite a while with the plastic links and I love it. It's just so much easier on parts. Now on a comp rig where you need things to stay in place 100% I agree the plastic links aren't so great. | |

| Not sure, someone from Axial is going to have to chime in on that. Quote:
He is referring to adding a Traxxas Summit 2 speed tranny in it, that is custom, not something Axial makes. Quote:

Will this still come with the light buckets if you wanted to add LED headlightsand also the PIAA cover for the bumper lights?
