| Cherokee Build Question I am working on my Cherokee build with the Floor pan and interior, and I plan on putting a couple of figures in the Jeep. Does anyone have a picture of how you cut out the floor of the interior? Here is a couple teaser shots of the boys building their Jeep XJ |

looks like they are hard at work,... i did not cut out the interior floor but i would probably only cut out leg/foot holes for you crew. i am searchhing through my old toys and my sons toys to see who looks most like me to put in my xj i am building. but i am probably only cutting out leg holes so they stay put and i dont have huge gaps. but i guess we shall see. putting last coats of paint on body, interior, pan as we speak then hitting the hay an then back at it tomorrow. want to play in the snow. got 6 of the 12 inches expected tonight so i want to get her out there after i shovel tomorr0w and tear it up some... enjoy your night... |

Post up some pics of your rig! I would like to try my rig out in the snow, but we don't get too much of that in SoCal. I like your idea, I will keep the holes small enough to hold them in their seat when crawling, I was contemplating giving them a 4-40 enima. |

| I got her together with the help of the boys, other than my unsteady hand at painting some of the grill lines I think it turned out pretty good. Last night the boys had most of the electronics in place, but forgot the ESC They then started getting the interior into place. Dam... Almost forgot the Beer A little test fit The under carage had to be trimmed, and holes added for the rear bumper This Jeep is kind of High to get the roof rack up top! The Boys getting started on the Fender Flares Last Flare install Time for the Rock Rails The alligator is one thing, but that cat is HUGE!!! So far everything is fitting great, the floor pan is going to need to be trimmed some more because of the fender flares. The inside piece of the flare is causing the body to flex out, because it is pushing against the higher trim on the floor pan. I will trim off an 1/8" or so tomorrow and see if that solve the problem. I also want to do LEDs all around. I found an old 7.2v battery pack from one of the kids old RC cars that I am going to drive the lights from. I am thinking of installing a couple of switched in the bottom of the floor pan to be able to turn on the rig, as well as the lights... This is the biggest problem I see with this when you are out driving the thing. If you need to work on it, there is a lot of work before you get to the electronics. But hey it is an XJ... If it Breaks Upgrade!!! If I am not playing with this, I am out playing in this |

I didn't mod my front at all, but needed to cut back 1/2 inch or so front the back end to get the rear bumper to even come close to fitting, but since you started with the honcho, i am thinking you have a longer wheel base. I started with this | |

yeah, the back is what i cut. but i trimmed edges next to gas tank, then heated it and bent up back part of tank so it was still there. hard to tell, but i see you totally trimed off rear of gas tank. i did not. but like i said, i trimmed the body pan next to tank. like yours. but left the tank whole, heated it, and bent the tank up to match the length of where i trimmed edges to... and yes, i started wit the honcho so i had to change over to 4 link and use the shorter links to pull rear in half inch... worked great. tomorrow i will take a better picture for you cause the more i read what i am writing, it seems confusing... lol sorry... love your 1:1... fun times. |
