Question My Honcho, w/ traxxas brushless, and 2 speed. Widening help?

Im a noob to RC crawling to the fullest. My buddy helped me get started on this build and it is done but needs fine tuning. What I need is a simple cost effective way to keep this thing from rolling at higher speeds. Im looking for pics and write ups for axle weights, offset wheels, axle widening kits, wheels spacers or anything else that could help. Thanks in advance!

P.S. I have been searching myself but maybe not using the right keywords?

Hey Smash, welcome to the board.
I've gone through the full process you're talking about. You can buy Gmade Red 12mm wideners, that's about the cheapest mod. Beef Tubes add weight to the axle and will add needed support to run the wideners with the heavy Summit trans (guessing here).

Check out my build thread in my sig: Build 3 SCX10 Monster Beetle.
It covers about everything and there's even video of it crawling and bashing with the Summit 2 speed and VXL on 3s lipo.

I'm still running the wideners and 2 speed but went to a slower motor for competition. I may swap in an Axial trans at some point.

I've got some 2.2" RPM Revolvers on the way that are for the front of a Stampede/Rustler. They're offset pretty far.

2.2" Wheel Widener for Axial AX10, SCX10, Losi 1/10 Crawlers, TLT-1, XC or CC-01 (Pajero, Touareg) #J51032*-*Wheel Wideners, Adapters, Glue (CA) and Miscellaneous Items*-*-Wheel Products*-*The Crawlers Store LLC

Not exactly cheap, but according to the description will add an inch to your track width. I'd watch out for the bearings in your hubs.

EDIT: ... And there are the Gmade wideners... lol

I've used the Gmade ones, but am currently doing an rc4wd rig which came with adapters and they are in a different league.
The widener even has a flanged face for the wheel to butt up against, not just the hex.

Is that the only real difference between the two? I can't imagine that truly being helpful, as the wheels mate up to only the hex when there is no adapter. I could see it causing problems if your wheel is damaged and the outside of the hex on the wheel isn't perfectly flat. Would cause the wheel to wobble.

Or, just get VP slw hubs and convert your current wheels. You can then vary track width, and have much stronger hexes for your wheels. I have used widerners in the past, but they all seem to induce more wobble to the wheel by the nature of the way they attach.

Definately getting the tubes. Do the spacers adapt to run both 2.2 wheels or the stock?
