Post Tyres: The final say

Hi guys. I have had my scx-10 for about three months now and love it. I love the scale rc world. I love real 4wds and I have my own comp spec one. I have become a little over the flat irons provided with my scx-10 and have been researching tyres online. I like the swamp boggers. The Trail buster tyres and the rok lox from rc4wd. I would like to put the vote out to you to decide which is best. When you vote could you please put a post telling us which tyre and why. Hopefully this thread will help others to buys new tyre too. If anyone wants to add a tyre let me know and I'll keep a tally if anyone also wants to vote for that tyre. The size I have chosen is 1.9. I will vote flat irons so I can see the tally board.

Thanks. The the voting begin!

Proline tsl-sx is my favorite rock tire and the rc4wd Bogger is my favorite dirt/mud tire.

I have seen them on rides people have posted pictures of but never knew what they were. They are similar to the trail buster. I like them too.

Proline TSL-SX: 1

A lot of people seem to think the pitbulls are the best.

I have seen a lot of rock lox on this site on people's rides. Not many mud bloggers and no trail bashers. Would love to see more votes though.

what about the mickey thompson baja claws in the 1.9 they are a tall tire.

out of what you have suggested i'd go mud slingers.. if your talking 2.2 sixe i'd go proline super swamper TSL.

I just put a set of Baja Claws on my rig, putted around in the snow a lil yesterday. They seem to do alright climbing up the ledge from the yard to the cement patio I have. I love the added height from the Flat Irons. You can't go wrong with the TSL Swampers, my friend has them in 2.2 on his Wraith easily the single best investment so far he's made for it. The Rox Lox are a solid choice too.

Really it depends a lot on the terrain you run on, some tend to clean mud better than others and so forth.

The Mudslingers in 1.9 are really short, would be best for a 1.9 MRC scaler build.

Not meaning to hi-jack your thread. I asked a similar question in the Wheels and Tyres section and got this response:

Tire choice help please!

Pit Bulls were top followed by PL TSL's!

i'm liking the r35 ripsaws 1.9's. they seem to bite well and climb great. my nephew has the pitbulls on his honcho and i will say they are a little taller than the ripsaws and work extremely well. i would say they work better all around than the ripsaws. i don't think the pitbulls are as tall as the roc lox tho.

if you want a tall tire--roc lox
if you want a great all around tire--pitbulls or r35 ripsaws

Roc lox aren't that tall. Iroks are tall. Roc lox are like 4.4" I think.
Pit bulls are 4.45" tall.
Iroks are 4.6".
Flat irons are 4.2"
Tsl's are 4.3".
Swampers boggers and claws are 4.7", but claws are fatter than boggers.

So if all you care about is size, then There you go. If you want traction get pit bulls.

If you want traction but pit bulls are too big, get tsl's.

Pitbulls are really sticky. I have a set to be installed on my SCX-10 in the works. I foresee obsurd traction with these tires, especially compared to what comes with the SCX-10. They might not be the tallest, but big is often over rated.... at least in the 1:1 world it is...

I just found out today after a lil browsing, there is a shorter baja claw. It's right around the size of the flat iron. Just some food for thought.
