Default Mechanic's Predator LR3

Here is something I have been having alot of fun building. I am going to keep this one simple, An scx chassis with the wheelbase shortened to 10.5 inches. Got a New Bright lr3 mud body that I have started to strip and will re-paint, and RC4WD Predator tracks. I am hoping to have alot of fun with this when its done, probably gonna use a Novac 18.5T brushless goat 3s with this build, enjoy.

Axle parts with Ax10 cvd's and aluminum c-hubs. Predator track install parts gives you hexes, aluminum high steer front knuckles with steering rods, and rear aluminum lock out hubs. Both are machined to work with the predator tracks and do not come with the tracks themselves.

Axles assembled with track adapters, 4 link on the rear only. I am going to keep the servo on the axle for now, these tracks are really weighty, and will need a good servo for steering.

Full metal tranny and Wraith driveshafts, had to shorten the rear driveshaft to work with the 10.5 wheelbase. Probably gonna gear 14/80 to start, the tracks change the overall gearing so I will have to test some different ratio's.

Basic chassis, nothing you haven't seen before. I added an extra radio box in the back to hold my lighting controller.

great looking start so far im hunting for a body like that at my local stores, does the wheel base have to be shortened to work with the body while running wheels also or just the tracks?

Here is the chassis with complete driveline and Predator tracks. You may notice I relocated my front shock mounts to lay down my shocks, nothing really truly scale about an LR3 with tracks so I can experiment, really softens the front suspention with stock scx springs.

Definately have to shorten wheelbase for tires, I did it so I could use both on the truck and the tracks themselves can rub with too much articulation even when lined up with the wheel wells. Body on this one is sitting a little high right now as I will have to trim to work with tires and the tracks.

Looks like a great start so far

How do you like the predator tracks? I have a set myself and love them. Don't even want to take them out because they are so damn pretty, and there is a serious lack of snow where I'm at.

Chassis with battery plate lowered (still clears servo) and radio box mounted. I hinged the body at the back and made body mounts up front out of honcho slider mounts. Body posts are screwed into new bright oem mounts underneath the hood, not shown sorry.

I haven't run them yet but the quality is outstanding! My only complaint is the GOLD anodizing, really GOLD? Could have done a better color than that so my ultimate goal when the truck is finished is to scratch all that gold off! He He.

Ground clearance may be even more than a set of portals, can't compare them myself but there really is alot of clearance.

Looking through the back window, I removed it temporarily to prep the body.

It's the axial one that comes with the TR's as extra parts. You can buy it separately but I do not know the part number. Flat black is my first choice, I do not want it too nice but I will try to accent it well with accesories.

Front clearance measures 1 1/2 inches under the pumpkin or the lowest part of the diff.
