if your running stock drive shafts your gonna break em in no time, was runnin that motor on a 2c 5000mah battery and smoked the front driveline, fun speed though, for a lil bit

Look up Squirreled on youtube. He has a video on how to upgrade the drive line for 2 bucks. Ive been running my Wraith on Brushless and havent had an issue with the stock axles.

New here guys and fairly new to the crawler community. I'm looking into putting the Axial 20T motor in my SCX10. Any other problems aside from the driveshafts? Will the stock transmission, slipper clutch and axle gears handle the increased power?

Thanks

First off everything on the SCX10 is fine to install the 20t...... at least for a short period of time. The only real issue like others have said, when you get into real wheel speed and power the drivelines (driveshafts) begine to fail. They twist, torque or snap under greater power. I would just plan on ordering MIPs and be done with it no matter what type of power you put down. I have run everything on my Rig with a ton of power and never worried about the driveshafts.

But one thing to remember, the driveshafts are the first line of defense when something goes wrong. They will break or snap when it has binded up or if there is some unknown issue. Upgrading your drive shaft will now make the next spot be the breaking point. So upgrading your trans would def be a GREAT idea. The stock axial outdrives the connect to the driveshafts are not all that strong. Robinson Racing has a full trans upgrade kit and then your trans would be somewhat bulletproof.

Robinson Racing Outdrive Diff Lock Gear AX10/SCX10

Robinson Racing Hard Steel Idler Gear AX10/SCX10

Hot Racing Axial SCX10 AX10 Wraith hard steel center gears set

MIP Spline Set Center CVD Kit (SCX10)

Thanks brother! I have the MIPs ordered from Tower and will most likely get the tranny you recommended.
Much appreciated.

I have run the 20t wraith motor for about 2 months in my scx10, i stripped 3 spur gears, 2 idler gears, lots of stock driveshaft pins, and tore apart some integy steel driveshafts (demo'd them. hardcore). I run an duratrax Evader slipper and it holds up fine, i use the Axial slipper on my emaxx and it works great. The stock driveshafts aside from pins (make your own) handle a 20t no problem, the dingo kit has the HD lockers and HD bevel/pinion gears spo it held up just fine. The worst damage i did was tear open an old super-soft 2.2 badlands tire, now i have 3 hard ones and 1 super soft
