Default scx10 comanche -WIDENED CHASSIS- *UPDATE*

hi i am sam and im aged 15. i am a new member to this forum so i decided to post some pictures of scx10 after i rebuilt it. it has a full metal chassis, homemade links, homemade internal suspension and relocated link mounts. widening the chassis has improved the cog and the new links and suspension has improved articulation. hope you enjoy as much as like driving it.
on to the pics

I would mount your upper and lower links in different places on the chassis. The way you have it is going to cause torque twist, and other driveabilty issues.

thanks for your reply and advice, but all the times i have used the truck i have not suffered from torque twist because of the wider chassis which means the links are wider apart giving it a better cog.

after my attempt to spray the side bars I noticed the paint was not drying, so I took my paint stripper to them and put a coat of primmer on them. will be posting pics up later but I'm still undecided whether I should paint them.

so here are the upgrades:
-novac 55t with rooster crawler
-savox digital sc 1256tg
-3 racing driveshafts
-1.9 proline tsl and titus rims (were on sale at my local hobby store)
-proline comanche body with tool box
-4000mh stick pack
-homemade links
-homemade 2cm widened chassis
-homemade internal suspension made from some old kyosho shock bodies, axial shafts, and some springs of a crappy rc car however they work great and could't be happier with them

Sidebars look great! Did you make them yourself? If so what diameter and material did you use?

thanks for the comment, yes i did make them myself and the size tubing is an 8mm diameter and are made from aluminium and for the 'prongs' they fit perfectly into the existing axial sidebar holder

a quick and easy way to keep grit out of your engine. when i took the engine apart there was a ton of grit and sand in it so i went into the bathroom and stole the lid of my sisters roll on deodorant. i will comment how it performs as I'm taking the truck out today and let you know if my sister notices.

it requires no screws as it fits under and around the engine.
thanks

and the engine guard worked great, there wasn't any grit or sand inside the guard.

and i would recommend 1.9 proline tsl to anyone, as they were unstopable.

Great build Sam! I'm very impressed at your skills at 15 yrs old! Amazing. My son is 14 and I don't think he could do this, bless his heart. I really like what you did with the custom side bars and how you widened the chassis. And, the story of you swiping your sister's deodorant cap made me laugh. What did she say to you when she found out?

Keep up the great work!

Little unconventional chassis setup, but if it works. Looks great, love the 1.9 Swampers and Proline beadlocks! That is almost borderline too much flex. About the only thing I'd change would be the ends of the nerf bars, make them not so bent...ie. now they are bent 90'....make them say about 60' bend, it should slide over things a little better. Overall a great looking truck and nice play area!
