| First Gen Toyota SCX-10
got a scx-10 a while back and have been working on it for a while now. i took a bunch of pictures of it so now i am going to start a build thread on it. It has a novak brushless goat 2s system and a spectrum receiver and remote. On 2.2 wheels with custom beadlocks. Heres a couple pictures of when i first got it. First thing to go is the 2.2s didnt like the look of them being that big and didnt look actually "scale". So ordered some 1.55 black wagon wheels and 1.55 iroks to make it look a little better. |

Next thing i did was cut the springs shorter and take all the oil out of the shocks to make the suspension softer and also to make it have a lot more down travel. now it sits lower and about 80% of the suspension is down travel to keep it from rolling because it sits low but it has i little bit of up travel to make it ride normal. Heres a picture of it flexing with the new setup. Heres the new stance of it. Rear Flex. |

Here is a couple pictures of just out driving around and testing the new spring setup. If you can tell from the pictures it sits pretty good on steep surfaces now which is what i wanted. It also has pretty good flex too which is even more of a plus. I forgot to say that these are not the stock shocks either. they are shocks off of an axial wraith. |

Now moving on to the mojave body to actually make the first gen. After Painting it. I rhino lined the bed with actual rhino line paint and then painted the rest of the body toyota tan!! Then i went ahead and rhino lined the rest of the underneith of the body. A closer look at the rhino lined bed This is the body all put together. Sits WAY too high on the body i think so next is getting the body mounts lowered and getting it to sit low! |

Got new cms for it and installed it. Showing how i redid the electronics after installing the cms. still have the battery in the front for better weight distribution. Stance without any body. LOOKS SICK I THINK!! IROKS!! definetly need to do something about that... Need to remount shocks lower and make new body mounts that sit lower also for the drop bed. |

Somehow i broke the novak system driving it in dry dirt so i sent that in to be fixed and decided to tear apart the rear end to fix the body mounts and shocks. I like to keep everything nice and clean... ha So what i did was mounted the springs to the rear of the axle and made a triangle formation connection it to the rear cross member and then shaved down the body mount to the perfect height. also moved the rear axle back about 5mm to sit even in the rear fender wells. heres a picture of the new setup with the springs remounted. it will flex a rockstar can perfectly. AND with all of that done it sits like that. sits just how i want it to and everything. stuffs the tires and looks awesome! just need that novak back so i can drive it now!! I had to shorten the links a lot! if anybody needs the dimensions for my rear lower links i can measure them because they are perfect length for the tires i think. the dingo links are too long i think. and this is how it sits in my room waiting for the new motor and esc... |

I love the Toyota. Seen a lot of them on here but yours is so clean and IMHO sits at the perfect ride height. Can't wait to see what else you do with this build.

I got bored waiting for the new novak system so i decided to go ahead and re paint the old honcho body. taped off all the windows and the front grill sticker to make it look a little nicer. went with the same toyota tan only rhino lined the bottom part of it and the rear cage. looks sweet i think. All put back together looks nice! Both bodies side by side. New decal for the roof |

First round of my bumper build didnt go so good. solder wouldnt hold at all so i pretty much gave up. i tried using solder with a propane torch to join brass tubing and plating and had no luck at all. any advice? anybody know an easier way than solder and different material to use? it would really help me a lot thanks guys! as soon as i get my electronics back ill get some pictures of it out in the hillclimbs!

How does that rear suspension setup work for you? I was thinking of angling my shocks in towards the tranny plate for a little more articulation but I never thought of trying it like that. Is it stable?
