Default Backwards wheelie...

Hey Everyone,
Ok, so at lunch today I'm running my SCX10 in our backyard. It's kinda misty trying to rain some. Anywho, while driving around the yard, I put it into a hard brake/reverse to avoid hitting a wall around our firepit. The SCX10 does a backwards wheelie!!! So I experimented some more (at high speeds-at least high speeds for the SCX10) and was able to replicate this quite easily. Now for the goofy part... it won't do wheelies going forward?!?!?!? WTF, I mean com'on - isn't that what wheelies are all about anyways? Going forward, not in reverse. (disclaimer; this is a trail running rig, not a basher)

Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm running all stock components. The only mods I've done are to make the RC water resistant.

I'm just befuddled, oh and my power source is a Venom 5400 2c 7.4v - not purchased for speed but extended run times.

Cheers,
Todd

Is your battery in the front? If so, that explains it.

Non-stock gearing will help with that as well...

If it really bugs you....just turn the body around!

My daughters AX 10 does that really bad, i think it got worse after mirroring the transmission. The torque twist was horrible though before.

My SCX doesn't, only because its sooo stinkin heavy.

Toss a brushless motor and speed comtroller in it. Pro 4 4000 and a MMP.
You won't keep any of the tires on the ground for long. LOL..

In all seriousness, My SCX chassis rig did that when the battery was up front. I put the battery in the back and it accually made the truck handle better. The front end was lighter and was MUCH easier to get up on obsticles. Also makes it look cool when you go from reverse to forward, pull the tires, and then stop on the obsticle. Hard to do though..

I just bought some 7 cell 8.4 volt batteries and mine will almost flip over forward ( I'm sure it will with a little practice lol) but still no wheelie going from reverse to forward, battery is still up front

Add weights to rear wheels. Well all the wheels really mine did that after a tire swap guy said they were weighted but they weren't.

I could get the front to lift on my bone stock honcho on pavement. but not from a dead start i had to be in reverse for a bit then forward.

Really, if this is a trail rig and crawler you don't want to be able to wheelie going forward (with stock electronics). That just means you'll flip over backwards trying to climb stuff. My honcho would do that to but after I geared it down to a respectable crawler speed it would barely do it, and now that it is a truggy it really won't do it at all. But it crawls better than ever. It will pull the tires off the ground in either direction for just a second when you first punch it though.
I leave the bashing hoonery for the Exo though.

mine does it. it weighs 14.4lbs. full speed reverse and jam the throttle forward and it will pick the front end up slightly. Weight distribution is a even 50/50.
