There are a couple threads about Topcad stuff, its not horrible stuff but not great either. If the stuff isn't beat to hell its a decent deal.

Its all really depending on the condition of the parts..... TopCad usual prices from EBAY are for NEW PARTS C-Hubs 18-20 dollars Knuckles 20-24 dollars Axle LockOuts 15-18 dollars Steering Link 15 - 18 dollars Chassis braces 15 dollars shock towers 15 dollars shocks 15 x2 dollars spur gear 12-15 dollars Gear Case 24-35 dollars Steel Gears 20 dollars Averaging around 185 dollars or so on the low end PLUS shipping. Sounds like a good deal. Even if you only use some of the parts..... i.e. Steering link, Gear Case, Steel gears, C-Hubs , Knuckles |

Tough call.. on a Basher like a stampede or a slash, Cheap aluminum is the absolute worst thing you can do. It bends, breaks and shears. In an aggressive, bash it break it rig, you want to stick with nylon or RPM type stuff. Trust me from YEARS of experience and spending way to much on aluminum crap I don't need. Expensive aluminum bearing carriers are the only thing that is worth doing in a rig like that. Everything else just looks nice until it breaks. That being said; our crawlers don't go through this kind of abuse. They don't endure the shock loading type forces that cause breakage in the same way. Aluminum/steel parts are actually a great upgrade in our case, and the quality of the material, not quite as important. I'd say go for it at that price! *on a ranting side note, I wish RPM would start making parts for the SCX. They're cheap, indestructable and the absolute best material for RC vehicles, Solid as a rock when it should be, and flexiblewhen it needs to be. |

i used some topcad stuff, screws broke when assembling... thread in alu parts was very weaak now i have some alu beadlocks from topcad under my scx10, screws didn't fit well, had to drill out some holes on all 4 wheels. I was missing some screws and nuts, nuts don't fit well in their place. so for me, no more topcad |

I used some of their stuff on my wraith, they seem good so far but my only complaint is that they dont give you the hardware. If your replacing plastic with aluminum you cant use coarse thread screws, you need the fine thread machine screws.

Depends on the area of the truck. Vanquish machining is top notch for sure. Hot racing basically makes aluminum copies of plastic, which may or may not be a good thing. Some Topcad stuff is original design along with plastic part copies, which may or may not be a good thing. Not saying one is better than the other. |

Topcad is a piece of shit. Got heavy duty shafts - broken after 10 minutes. Got a replacement shaft, broke after 1 minute - a pin was missing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Tuono_dk aka Jan @ Denmark |

Certain parts work well. When my 6yr old is old enough to buy his own parts and know the difference, he can buy vp stuff. Until then, chubs/knucks from topcad along with beef tubes stand up to his beat downs and keep us on the trail |

I've gotten decent chat support from Asiatees for topcad parts a couple of instances so far... Now returning parts is not something I'd wanna do. |

I own some topcad pcs. and I can say that on a scx10 you will have no problems with the parts, as long as your not foff'n. I would pass on the parts if they were for a Wraith or some kind of basher- for the reasons above. Topcad is pretty hit and miss, I just finished installing some topcad wheels on my wraith(no stipped holes or missing hardware) but thats all I can say. Hopefully they last longer than stock wraith wheels. I'd offer the guy 50 bucks and be on your way.
