| Radio with winch Help
I got a venom VR3T 2.4 radio as i needed to control the vehicle and the winch i installed, the only problem is the radio has no 2 position switch, the winch is either going one way or the other. The person who runs my lhs talked me into the radio to run the winch so he's willing to exchange the radio for me for something that will work. Anyone know of a not too expensive 2.4 radio that i can use that has the extra channel with a 3 positing switch (needs neutral so the winch isnt going.) thanks |

does the radio have EPA on the 3rd channel? if so, tune it to zero one direction, and use the servo reverse to control the direction |

Or you could look into one of "Heyok's" winch controllers. I use them on three rigs with a 2 position 3rd channel. Work incredible! HeyOK's RC Electronics items (all in one place) Great guy to deal with! |

Well I cant really help with your current radio but what I did was I pikced up one of the RC4WD Winch set up's which comes with a controller already pre wired. Running that with my 4PK and I love it |

ya they used to sell the winch control seperately and now they dont. i like the idea of using the radion though. Has anyone seen anything about the rc4wd radio xr4 4 channel? it sells for 90 bucks and has 2 channels with 3 position on it. just dont know who makes it.

Don't waste your time. Check out the modded gt3b. A phenomenal radio. Mine has 6 channels.

yea but rc4wd winch is garbage as soon as go in loose dirt and mud. Even if you waterproof because its the gears that get ruined

I didn't have the extra cash to buy a new radio. So I wired mine where I could switch between steering and the winch. This way it's all run from my stock 2ch radio. No controllers or extras required.I flip the switch and turn right. The winch goes out.I turn left it goes back in.That easy. I know it's not the top of the line way to do it but it worked for me and it works great. Here's how I wired it. |
