| SCX10 questions
I ordered a RTR Trail Honcho to take with me when I go to Colorado at the end of June so my dad has something to drive (also bringing my modded Ridgecrest). I want to get an idea of what spare parts I should bring as access to a LHS may be limited. I did order aluminum C-Hubs, a steering linkage set (going to install a stronger servo and BEC which I already have) and possibly a 35T or 45T motor to slow it down a bit. Anything else I should get? Since this is going to be a 'buddy' truck I don't intend on going nuts modding it, just trying to make it as reliable as possible for others to use. Thanks!

Well, I went ahead and ordered MIP driveshafts, aluminum knuckles and a skidplate. I'm going to make my own links to replace the stockers and probably 4 link the front.

I had to do the same thing for a spare buddy rig I put together for those impromptu crawling sessions. I was concerned with what replacement parts helped improve durability than say improving performance or increasing the "bling" factor Therefore I recommend upgrading at least the chubs, steering knuckles, driveshafts, and servo horn to metal. These tend to be the first stock plastic parts to break. If not upgraded then definitely bring spares for these! Have fun. |

Yeah, I pretty much answered my own questions. Duh. Got the truck in today; added a Solar D772 servo (with aluminum horn), the steering links, and a 5A BEC. Just waiting on the C Hubs, knuckles and driveshafts.

There is a shop in Arvada called the crawl space, they carry all the axial parts you need in case of breakage.
