Default Huge SCX10 Electronics dilemma

hey guys, here's my dilemma on my SCX10 Honcho build. I plan to start doing G6 events soon but want to build my Honcho up right. Here's what I have already:

Vanquish Stage 1 kit
Vanquish Hoops
MIP driveshafts
RC4WD front bumper/side rock guards
RC4WD CMS
RC4WD DC beadlocks 1.9 on Pitbull tires
Proline Powerstrokes
Axial Alum links
Savox 1283sg servo

Now on to the electrics question. I plan to run 2s/3s and have a couple of combos in mind, as they are available at my local shop.

Tekin FXR/45T Pro
Tekin FXR/35T HD

I've also had to put on an 80t spur to make the MIP driveshafts work with the shroud, so instantly, the truck will be faster by 7t on the spur..

Also, I know the Savox will be power hungry, so BEC? Spectrum cap?

Also, about the FXR, if it's in a water proof box, heat issues?

Sorry for all the questions!

Go with the 35 turn combo.

You should have no heat issues with the FXR unless you are geared wrong.

You need a BEC for sure. Only plug the - and signal wires from the servo into the receiver. Hook the red red directly to the BEC. That is the best way I have found. You should really look into Hitec servos, a bit more $ but worth it.

Sounds like your headed the right direction, personally, I would stay away from the CMS setup, unless you really want it, I took it off my rig because of bump steer and it causes the servo to work harder.

Yeah, the CMS is strange. I installed it last night and at full compression, I see the bump steer. It also looks like the servo will tweak the frame at each stroke.

Any word on the HD vs Pro?

With CMS a panhard bar is added to reduce or eliminate the bump steer and chassis movement.

I've found I personally like 35T. Decent wheel speed and good low torque on 2s.

does the pan hard limit suspension travel or does it act like one in the old ford trucks from the 70's

I have been runnig the fxr 35t, 2S, combo for 2 or more years now. It started out petty good and I was happy with it. I did end up water proofing the esc so I didn't have to worry about it anymore. I have really started not being happy with the performance of it lately and how bad my low speed control was so I started researching some other options. Ended up buying a Holmes Hobbies BR-XL with their 21t hand wound motor. WOW, what a difference. Super smooth at low speed even when 2.2 MT claws that measure 5.7 inches tall. And with the 21t motor and 2S it has good wheel speed when needed. Just for kicks I wired up another 2s battery so I could run 4S, since the HH esc can run up to 6S, HOLY CRAP! this thing is crazy. It can jump up the hills if it wants and still crawl as slow and as smooth as you want to. Also I paid the extra $10 to have them water proof it from the factory. I would highly recomend this esc over any others I have used for crawling. And the drag brag is amazingly strong where I've had the FXR not hold completely. The only draw back I can see is that you can't program the esc without the software.
