First, I would like to say thank you to Axial for sending RCC an early media kit. Along with this kit, Im also in the process of building a wraith. 2 builds at one time is going to be fun. The mandatory box shot. ![]() Manual. ![]() I started out with the axles, per the instructions in the manual. Got everything assembled and started digging through my bins to see if I could find something to prop them up for a few quick shots. In one of the bins, I ended up finding a set of HD Overdrive gears (#AX30401-36t/14t) and a set of HD Underdrive gears (#AX30402-43t/13t). Along with the HD gear sets I found a set of Axial Universal Drive Shafts (#AX30464). The only problem was I couldnt find one of the pins. So apart came the axles and in went the HD gear sets. As I was about to put the stock front shafts in, I remembered I had used a small pin to assemble the drive shafts in my kit Wraith. The drive shaft pins in the Wraith were the same exact size, BINGO!! Finally after awhile I got everything back together and was able to start snapping some pics. ![]() ![]() NOTE: The HD gear sets and the front upgraded shafts are not absolutely needed to make this trail ready. The stock parts are more then plenty to go have a good time with the rig. My plan is to run a Holmes BRXL and 13t on 3s, so the added durability will def help. I wasnt quite sure why John wanted the shocks out of the kit last night when I was at his house. I didnt bother to look until I got home. These things are pretty damn nice. Went together pretty quick and are very smooth. ![]() After a few hours I decided it was time to wrap it up. Both axle assemblies are together along with the shocks....tomorrow I'm going to start on the transmission. ![]() |

Between work and going on vacation the last week Ive got the kit pretty much going again. Here is where I am as of now. Now that the roller is about finished, I can add the rest of the electronics. ![]() These are extremely smooth, love em!! Badger wants to trade but I dont think thats going to happen. ![]() ![]() The transmission as of now is basically stock minus the Robinson Racing Hardened Aluminum Diff Gear. Not necessarily needed, but since this is going to be on 3s and I had it in the parts bin, I put it in when the transmission was built. A Holmes Hobbies 13T is supplying the power. RPP Hobby: Robinson Racing Hardened Aluminum Diff Gear ![]() ![]() I ended up cutting the bump stops in half to give it a little bit more travel. ![]() The scale D Rings are a nice touch along with the bumpers. ![]() Battery placement seems to really help out the balance of the rig. I ended up mounting my battery in my honcho like this and it worked out great. ![]() ![]() The kit tires are super stickey and from what I have seen on badgers rig, they work really well. ![]() Here's a few other misc images I thought I would add too. ![]() ![]() |

Myself, Badger and SubyJeff just hit up one of our local crawl spots. The rig did pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was how light the front end was on climbs. It would park the truck on the rear bumper on steep ones. Easy fix though, so I'm not to really worried about it. Other then that, it did really good. Now that its pretty much finished, I can start adding all the goodies I have. ![]() I ended up borrowing badgers RTR wheel/tire combo. The only difference between the kit wheels and the rtr is the chrome ring. ![]() The tires work extremely well in the terrain we have around here. I may need to get some different foams though...Not happy about the paint peeling already even though I prepped the body correctly. I have a fix for this though..... ![]() ![]() Last edited by NorCal 2500HD; 02-24-2013 at 05:54 PM. Reason: typo |

Love the white. Some panel lines and flat black exterior detailing would really set it apart.
