Default Motoj550's Wraith axled Cherokee build

Didn't wanna bore anyone with the standard SCX10 kit part of the build so it's put together. But i ditched the axles for brand new set of Wraith axles and installed some CVD's for better turning. I used the stock aluminum lower links and put some mild bends in them for better clearance. I used some ti uppers i had and had to put the bends in them to clear the driveshafts when using wraith axles. Gonna paint this cherokee Orange so i thought i would paint the shock reservoirs orange too. Went ahead and turned the tranny 180 degrees to help with torque twist and also mirrored the tranny to move the motor weight forward.

Got my new 2.2 Micky Thompson MTZ's mounted up to my DNA aluminum berg offset thrashers, with this offset it will narrow up the wider stance of the wraith axles. Whenever RC4WD finally get their 1.9 TTC baja claws back in stock i'm going to get them also so i can run both 1.9 and 2.2 classes with same truck without having to change ride height for different tires because both these tires are almost exactly the same height.

That probably is the closest you'll get. It's kind of a metallic copper color. I think it'll be a little darker and it'll have more of a flake/shimmer to it unlike anodized metals.

As for the Baja Claws, keep checking regularly or set up to be notified when they are in stock because they come and go relatively quick.

Yes, I would probably do white instead of silver, but I'm not sure how exactly it'll turn out. Pactra says to back their pearly metallic colors with their backing black, but I don't see why a bright white wouldn't work. You'll want to test it on a piece of scrap lexan first. Back one with black and another with white.

Here's what it looks like backed with outlaw black:

I thought about doing Wraith axles. Kinda think the axles are too wide. Got any action shots?

they are wide but i seen someone else on here do it and when they put the dingo fender flares on it all came into perspective, looked just like a real 1.1 with fullsize axles under it. no action shots yet, lower front links hitting bottom of frame at about 3/4 articulation, gonna have to take the little bend back out of the lower links.

I'm a member of NAXJA, and have seen quite a few full width XJ's in my time, so it's not all together un-realistic putting wraith axles under it. Depends on where you drive though. That's my 1:1 in my icon, and there are just too many places where full widths just plain wouldn't fit, so I chose to just stay at a normal track width.

Your XJ is looking good, will be following your progress. I'm doing one myself, but am using VP SCX housings.

yours is lookin' nice cloudswimmer, them vanquish axles are the shitz man. may have to upgrade to the vanquish wraith housings down the road. This is my 1st scx10 build and i'm really enjoying it, lots different than my xr10 build.

Yeah the VP axles are cool, bought them before they came out with the Curries. I have Curries on my real XJ, so am thinking of selling these while still new, and getting the Curries to match my 1:1. Have been lookin for a XR10 as the comp bug is starting to creep in. Did you do a build thread on your XR10? Been doin lots of reading up on comp rigs, but it seems XR10 's are discontinued
