Default First BUILD

well im trying ill take opinions but this is it so far

added lights and grill plus whatever the other black covers are called

added overhead lights no bulbs yet

added a lil extra to the arm and had to put spacers between the servo plate and axle but i feel like the servo isn't doing its best any suggestions

moved the esc to back and put the on/off switch to a easy access spot

flipped trany and put in a 62 tooth spur plus spacers between the motor and skid plate

in upcoming buys im getting aluminum steering link atleast 102mm shocks and vq steering knuckles also some bead-locks too.

You should consider removing that tamiya plug all together and soldering the plug straight. or clip just the tamiya plugs out, strip the wires and solder them together (and a little shrink wrap!)

Love the accessories up top. Good looking build!

Did you raise the servo, then cut a horn and screw it on as an extension? Were you not able to get a full steering throw? I was able to get full steering throw with the blue hitec arm and that same servo, and my endpoints were still under 100% on my radio.

The Tamiya plug will be fine on a crawler, but you have the male end of the Deans right there, so if you have access to a soldering iron you may as well put it directly on the ESC.

I think it's time to get it a little dirty and scratched up.

the longer the arm the less torque the servo can deliver. If the servo is sucking wind you could add a bec or take off the extension.

More travel. Yes.

But less torque is correct. If a servo delivers 300oz/in that's with a 1in servo horn.

300 ounce
over
1 inch

If you use a 2"servo horn you'll only feel 150oz of torque out of it because you doubled the denominator without changing the numerator.

The maths sucks

Front end looks great. Very Defender like. The rear needs scaling up though. Nice rig...

Nice start! The dingo was my first scaler build and havent stopped adding to my fleet since.
+1 for the bec comment and the links. They make a huge difference. One will provide the needed voltage to power the servo, and the links will help with clearance, steering, and adds rigidity overall.
Was that an RTR honcho with a dingo body? I swear the dingo kit came with aluminum links. Great start either way.
Theres tons of tips and tricks here with no lack of friendly people to help.
