| Chub Screw's backing out
OK... not the only issue... as the "C" knuckle screws (kingpins) also seem to loosen/back out over time used. Then combined... they create wheel/tire hub slop. I realize vanquish and others sell alloy parts to replace/improve... But even with those... the screws would still screw into the plastic axle housing. * No they're not stripped ! I was told by another that some blue locktite would help keep those seated. But was worried if those could booger up the insert threads ? Anyone else have this issue ? Locktite the temp fix ? Any issues removing the screw(s) down the road ? Any other advise regarding ? |

Get rid of those woodscrew style screws going into the plastic and pick up the same size in a machined thread. Then, use either blue Locktite or CA Glue to help hold it in the plastic. The little plastic sleeve that goes through the steering knuckle you can get rid of as well and go to a metal sleeve. I use the HPI Racing part. I can't remember the part number though. Beef tubes are the way to go along with the machine screws. Don't use loctite on plastic it will soften it and eat it over time. Use ca glue when screwing into plastic. I am sure there are people that will disagree with me on using loctite on plastic but they can look it up or keep using it and find out. There are some other threads on here that I have seen people say they won't ever use loctite on plastic again after learning the hard way. Loctite is meant for metal on metal use.

+1 on the NO loctite on plastic.. It eats it.. CA glue is the best. It can actually rebuild striped threads. Sent from my highly abused iPhone using Tapatalk |
