Default Gasket for Over Drive AX30401

Hi Guys,

Could someone please enlighten.
Does the HD overdrive kit require a gasket? There is none in the package.
If it does require gasket, the stock size definitely wont fit. What part number or size gasket can i get? A link of where to get would be appreciated.

Or can i make a "gasket" out of plain paper?

Thanks in advance.

It depends on what lockers you are running. Some are designed for the gasket, some not.
If you're sticking with the stock lockers, then yes, you will need the gasket. Just try to find a paper or material that is the same thickness as the gasket.

If you are using the stock diff housing/locker, the stock gasket should work with the overdrive gear set. The gasket isn't included with the gear set.

The stock gasket is part number ax30385.

The gasket is just used as a spacer so you can cut your own gasket out of paper or other material of the same thickness.

Thanks guys for your help.

@bigstu - i'll be using the GribFab lockers both front and rear. So will these lockers require gaskets?

@k7zpj - the stock gasket ax30385 only fits the stock 38T gear and underdrive gear (43T). It will not fit for the overdrive, the gasket is too big for it.

Thanks for the thumbs up to use plain paper, I'll definitely give that a go.

Cheers!

First question: Nope. They're pretty much only for the the Axial Cross pin locker.

Second question: It should work for all of the Axial gear sets.

Thanks Lentsnh2012...quickest response ever! :P

But what is your answer to "Second question: It should work for all of the Axial gear sets"??....what was my 2nd question?

I interpret your answer to my 1st question is: gaskets only required if using Axial cross pin lockers. For the GribFab, gaskets not required. Correct?
