Default Best way to get SCX10 hardware?

I have found a few kits online but none seem to have most of the hardware for the SCX10 minus the bearings which I would get from Fast Eddie.

Does anyone out there know of a way to get a lot or all of the different screws and nuts and bolts for the SCX10 without getting all the various part numbers and purchasing them by the package? I don't have a hobby shop nearby that really stocks Axial unfortunately.

RCScrews, Harley's Hardware, and another brand that Jang on URC uses. It's Hexa-something.

Do they make a pack of all the screws?

I know Tower has this:

TowerHobbies.com | RC Screwz Stainless Steel Screw Kit Axial SCX-10

But I dont think that has any screws. I think it is just all the nuts and bolts.

I bought Harley's kit along with more 6, 8, 10 & 12mm lengths. The thought process was having multiples of all lengths rather than exactly what's needed for a kit. The meat fingers sometimes can't be trusted...

I bought the RC Screwz kit (from rcscrewz.com) to change mine over to stainless, and it has every screw you need and then some. There are tons of extras in the kit.

Intend to do the SS screw swap... (eventually)
would eliminate the rust and corrosion associated with painted hardware.
Thought I saw a SCX-10 SS screw kit sold for less on ebay !?

I have tossed every screw that looks like a wood screw...
and replaced those with 3mm machine screws.
They thread with just a little more effort (initially)
and IMO... bite and hold stronger.

I generally purchase Traxxas 3mm bolts/nuts
'cause they're not too costly... offer a variety of lengths...
and include more then several to a package.

I would suggest you buy Harley's kit - it seems to be the best bang for your buck. Has pretty much everything you need and then plenty more! but buying more like Meatwad suggested is a good idea too so you don't have to stop what you're doing to buy screws - you will eventually need more screws

I think the only screws his kit doesn't include are the few screws with the larger hex head, and bugle-head/countersunk screws. the larger bolts can easily be swapped with the button-head, but you will need to buy a few packs of the countersunk ones if you have specific need for them on your rig.

For emergency on the shelf screws if you don't have a hobby shop nearby is ACE hardware if you have one around. They always seem to have a decent selection of tiny metric hardware.

We have a few ACEs near here. That is good to know. I have come across the problem of not having the correct screws a few times and had to improvise by cutting and filing them down to the right size.

Out of all honesty I will probably buy both Harley's kit and the kit from RCSCREWZ on RPP to support our vendors.

But if you can win that bid at that price... would be kool.

Think the "buy it now" listing I saw... ended up closer to $20. total
$ 16.-- for the item, another $ 5.-- for shipping.

good luck !

I vote for RCScrewz. I've done three kits so far and about to start another using their hardware. No complaints!!

You'll wonder how you ever got by without one of Harley's kits once you get one. I think I've built 4 SCX based rigs from trans all the way down to the axles from one kit and I still have a bunch left. Quality stuff and for sure the best bang for the buck.
