| Testing Interest ~ Flip Your Lid!
I built these when I first got my Honcho and they've held up just fine. It was a pita to unplug my lights every time I took the lid off. Thought it might be a good product for Eyeball Engineering to offer up to you guys. What is pictured are prototypes...the production version will be a bit more streamlined and won't require any modification of the frame. The only body clips required are the ones on the hood. Thoughts? Last edited by Duuuuuuuude; 11-11-2013 at 07:15 PM. |

Great idea rear body clips suck period on the honcho.. got any idea on price point yet? That would probably make or break this idea.

This is probably what the production version will look like. Channeled to fit over the frame, bolted on using the existing bolt for the rear light buckets. |

Any cons you've seen so far? Other than unbolting it to take the body all the way off to clean it ect? Also where are you at in Arkansas?

^ LOL my Honcho is a rock/pavement queen of sorts until she gets fully waterproofed! I've detailed it twice and only had it a week.. Anyway sounds good. PM me a price when you can get a finished product out with shipping (38654)? I'm in North West MS near TN Line (next to Memphis, Tn) didn't know how close ya were. |

cool... but yer gonna need some clamping collars or something... to keep the cage tubing from wandering left-right on those pivots. I'd likely buy a coupla' pair... if the price were right... and the cage assembly could not shift. |

Collars are not a bad idea though.

That's a neat idea. If you made a simple cross bar that an already existing body post system could be attached to you'd have a winner for those without a honcho tube bed as well.

Maybe just some plastic cylinders measured/cut to the correct length so that it spaces both sides equally ? ^ would be cheaper to do

| Re: Testing Interest ~ Flip Your Lid! I was thinking about delrin tubing. Can't get it in black without being 1/2" od though. Might have to try abs or something.

Think the cage tubing is about 7mm in diameter. Maybe 1/4" fuel tubing could be used and stretched a little to fit, if need be ? ^ little dish soap and water helps

what kind of plastic is that machined from ? delrin ? I'm ok with the lower price... alloy is prolly overkill anyhow. |
