Default Testing Interest ~ AR60 D-mount

Who would be interested in being able to bolt on a D-Mount to their AR60's?

Uses stock length links, improves geometry when using an aftermarket chassis, gives you more tuning options, and makes you a hit with the ladies.

Yes, nice but would like to see a triangulated brace to another screw below.

EDIT: What are the two other screw holes and the half-round for?

What is shown is the AX10 version, which is essentially what the AR60 version will be but will come with a lower brace.

The other screw holes are for mounting to the AX10 axle, either side up.

The half-round is pure style and badassery.

Those would look good on my 1/6th scale jeep build.

Cool, would they be delrin or aluminum?

Not sure. Delrin would be ideal, but the aluminum would hold threads better if I go that route. With delrin you'd have to bolt through and nut it underneath. I'll make one of each and see how it goes.

Aluminum takes more time to machine too.

I like aluminum better and just drill out the holes, a locknut is the way to go imo.

I like aluminum better too, but it takes more time and care to machine (I do all of this on a manual mill), and I haven't yet been able to efficiently produce a surface finish that I feel is up to par for the RCC crowd.

A delrin version would work just as well. No worries about strength. The first one I make will be tested in a Wraith driven by a little kid with a heavy finger. If it'll break, he'll do it.

The kinda clunky aluminum test part. Solid as a rock.

Adapters! One from aluminum, two from delrin. All are plenty strong. The delrin will be the one tested rigorously.

McMaster.

Maroon nylon mesh abrasive belt.

Pick the size you need for your belt/disc sander.

A small run of adapters are ready for sale. If you want one, head over to my vendors thread and let me know.

I have a Delta Shopmaster. Model SA446. 4" wide belt, 6" disc.

Uses a 4x36 belt.

You'll love having it just for the ability to put a nice finish on a part. My nylon belt hasn't been off since I put it on.

I know it, I've been wanting one for a while now. The plan was to pick one up with the funds gathered from the D-mount sales.

Then the wife saw my PP balance...and...well...she had other plans.

I'd let you borrow mine but it would cost more in shipping that what they cost at Lowe's.
