| building an Axial SCX10 for my son.
Hello all . i am Dean from Maple Ridge BC Canada. It has been a while since i have posted on here. I built a wheely king aka the " Bling King " a few years ago build here....My " bling king " Then I had a son, bought a house, started a business and life got very busy. Well He is 6 this nov 20 and is constantly bugging me to take the shelf queen out, so I think it's time he has his own. I bought a used scx10. It has some good and some bad. the good... punisher driveshafts metal diff gears metal tranny gears alum steering links traxxas waterproof ESC 5 ch radio and reciever rc4wd black spoked wagon wheels aftermarket shocks the bad... rear 4 link completely wrong motor wired wrong missing nuts and bolts for wheels stock 3 link front too heavy of springs im sure im forgetting some other things lol! this is what i purchased for him minus the wheels and tires i borrowed them from the Bling King until his are built. I am going 1.9 for him. sorry i didnt take any more pics of the prebuild but you can see the rear 4 link and the short upper links where he drilled thru the frame ( blue links) mocked up with my spare body that matches my 1:1... i'll post pics of the what i changed when i get to my home comp tonite. |

I like the paint on your 1:1. Reminds me of the A10s I used to see at the Air Shows when I was a kid.

thank you spunky this is where I am at now. I will let him pick a body and color. I went with the tsl's 1.9 and lowered it as much as I could. I also stretched the wheelbase out. This will be a trail truck with a novice behind the " wheel " and I want the tires to hit first as he will be beating it pretty good I'm sure. I replaced the front steering links with new ones simply because the ones that came with it were scratched and reused them for upper links. back shot, pretty basic. I replaced the springs that were in the shocks with much softer ones, this scx flexed like a skateboard when I first got it. |
