Ok so is it a trial & error kind of thing? Do they make the upper links for the scx10 in metal or is that a mod?

When you lift the SCX10, you then see that the pinion shaft coming out of the axle will be pretty much pointing down. Go pick up some Traxxas Revo rod ends, 8-32 all thread rod and aluminum or stainless steel tubing. With those materials, you can make your own custom length links. The front, however, is a different animal. You cant adjust the pinion as much as you can with the rear. If you do that, you will make the steering steer into the ground instead of steering "on top" of the ground like stock. You'll have to buy clockable C-Hubs to help so you aren't steering into the ground. Just make sure that your upper links are equal in length and that they push the top of the chunk back, so that the pinion shaft will be almost inline with the driveshaft. You can always just do a body lift if you want more clearance. either mod will raise your center of gravity and that's not really a plus for any truck...if you widen the truck and equal amount it can even itself back out but high rigs are not very good performers as they tip over really easy on small side inclines. Just some thoughts to consider. Better driveshaft angles are a good thing but you only need to play with the upper link to correct that...Longer will raise it..shorter will lower it. |
