And then i got the ford hi lift body from a awsome guy not too far from me

The body was covered in a rattle can bed liner the prep took forever lots of wet sanding and body filler to eliminate the antenna hole and the side mount holes from the orignal mounts

While the primer was drying i decided to make the grill and bumpers look as they should

What is your wheelbase ...my wheelbase is longer than the wheel wells on the truck body

Upgrading an R/C is a never ending process!

Its a bit longer than the body i like where the ft wheels are but need to shorten the rear to get it right
Then i had a complex on what color to paint it i had a few different colors of red first it was a red metallic

I compared it to the trucks we have at work it was a few shades off so change of plans went with a silver base coat and a translucent red over the top

The fun dosent stop there...

Figured red alone would be kinda boring so i started masking off the truck and sprayed some semi gloss black two tone baby

Got the truck back home and decided to add a bit of detail to it

All the paint i used was testors rattle cans and a few jars to add detail havent clear coated it yet but that is testors as well.
While i was waiting for the paint to dry i figured what better time to add the headlight/ strobe kit i got at my LHS

Head lights and turns just red in the rear for the moment still have 2 white 5mm and 2 blue 3mm leds that i dont know what to do with

The tail light holders wernt on the body i had lenses but not the buckets

Good thing i had some old plastic tool holders for my snap-on pry bars hobby knife and a hand drill set to fab them up

Reassembled her last night next will be suspension mods to make the wheelbase correct

I like the metallic. red. But the flatter red will look better roughed up.

I just finished painting mine over the weekend. Its not a hardbody, yet. But hey... I like your color choice!

Useful tip that i learned after it was to late, the first time. Use electrical tape where your going to have a hard line, like where the 2 tone meets. It will give you a much cleaner line with less "bleed"

Mine are the Pitbull RockBeast. I think they are 3.7"? I had the RC4WD Boggers before and they were to big. I think they are 1/10 of an inch bigger than the claws. I have 100mm shocks all around and a lift on the front on the lowest hole but, i dont run any springs on my shocks. Alot of people tell me things i could do better but it works great for me. Im not changing anything.

The links for the Dingo are the exact size you need for that body. I had that body. It and my dingo body were interchangeable.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I'm going to do the hard body one day. I have to buy 2 though. Im going all out. I want to make a crew with a drop bed. I've got the know how, I just dont have the wifes approval to drop $100+ on a body.

So i have a few updates for the truck. I had a lift kit on it for a day

Then that afternoon picked up a set of losi crawler shocks orange springs for the rear and chrome for the ft

Also had picked up the alum link kit for her and converted the ft to a true 4 link

Last night figured it would be a good idea to mirror the trans

Also picked up a 2s lipo and am plannin on new mount and moving the rest of the eletronics
