Default My first build (Honcho RTR rebuild)

So I picked up this used Honcho at my LHS. Body was beat up so I cleaned it up some made a re-enforcement plate for the back of the cab and sprayed the cab inside and out. Broke a couple of lower links and had to replace them and since I am new I found some adjustable links to replace them. Made two trays that mount to the frame above the sliders inside the body to hide two batteries for long trail runs and lots of crawling. Any suggestions and info are always appreciated. Questions are answered as best as I can.

Ok so I went to my LHS and picked up some TSL SX XL 1.9 for the truck, finished the battery trays, got the new headlights put in and winch wired up, and new front bumper put on. As always comments and questions are welcome.

Looks like your off to a great start with your truck. Those TSLs look and work way better then the flat irons imho.

I was wondering if you was talking about your pinion gear? If you are, a 16t pinion will be totally fine as long as you have the stock 80 or 87 tooth spur gear on it. I personally run up to a 20t pinion with that setup and it runs sweet with no issues.

Just wanted to tell you that your truck is looking sweet. I know a lot of guys done like those 1.9 flat irons, but I wish I could get some. I have the 2.2's on my sons rig and they work really well. Keep up the great job on your build.

Yeah I have the flat irons as backups I am running the TSL SX XL's now and yeah I was talking about the pinion gear. Now I am running two 35turn tekin hand wound motors and 25tooth pinions with a 87tooth spur

Ordered a set of Robinson racing gears for the tranny, will see how that goes hopefully that will eliminate the breakage problem. Have been thinking about doing the gen3 slipper clutch from Robinson has anybody had any experience with it.
