Default Newbie to 1/10 Scaler, finally pulled the trigger

Just wanted to say what's!!! I been looking at the SCX10 for some time now and finally pulled the trigger. I'm not new to RC just the 1/10 Scaler's, been mostly 1/10 Short course, 1/5 Baja and Micro crawlers = I travel a lot for the Army. I'm getting the bug for the SCX10, especially now that I have one in front of me. I think I got a good deal:

SCX10 G6 "brand new" (Was built, but not ran at all. I'm tearing it down to make sure everything was done right and to get a good understanding of the rig)
Tekin FSR w/35T motor
Savox 0220MG servo
Spektrum DX3S
Venom 2C 5000 40C
Onxy 235 Charger

All for $380. I couldn't pass it up!! Nothing special, but some decent upgrades right out the gate.

I live in Gatesville, but yes work on Ft. Hood. I use to race but it's pain as I travel so much it's hard to go off and on the track. Plus the Killeen Hobby center track is a joke, heard the Nolanville 439 raceway is nice, but takes me over a hour to get there. So the Scaler path is looking a lot better, plus it seems you guys are out there to have fun then getting all mad during the races. Seeing grown men throwing a fit over the little things. Also due to me traveling a lot I can spend more time outfitting the SCX10 and use the hotel landscaping as my course. They don't like the Baja at all, so she has to stay home

Well I finally got me a new body. The Jeep G6 body was poorly painted and honestly I didn't like the body. Got a stock rear bumper and set of wheels off ebay. I'm currently in Ft Huachuca, AZ for 3 weeks due my job with the Army. I relocated the battery up front and started messing with the suspension. Nothing fancy but got it painted and hit the trail (I mean my hotel landscaping).

like the simple paint scheme
looks subtle and elegant

I think the tires look a little on the tall side,
to be considered a near scale stance

4.17" od tires look more realistic and closer to scale
^ and are also the maximum tire height for Class 1

those Trep's would automatically mandate operation in Class2

but then... it's all in what you want of it

have fun !

I like the simple clean look as if I had the 1:1 I would keep it just like this as well. I had the same tires (G6 kit) but needed a 5th wheel for the spare and didn't feel like dropping a load of cash for 5 wheels/tires, so I just picked up a cheap set on ebay. I don't do any competition sadly as I travel a lot with the Army (I'm a contractor), so by the time I get use to a area it's time to go again. I got the rig to be a time killer and something I can play/fix around my hotel rooms.

Right now I'm trying to pre plan everything for lights and winch setup. Seems like with the lights there are a lot of wires from the chassis to the body just got to see how to wire it all and limit the amount of connections between the two.
