Default My SCX10

A couple of weeks ago I decided to add a scale vehicle to my collection. So i picked up a Rubicon kit. I went with a chevy theme because I drive a GMC Duramax(could not find a duramax body). The up grades so far include a Jevne Racine forward battery tray with winch mount, Servo winch, Waterproof HH BR-XL, Tekin hand wound 35T motor with 16T pinion & 87T spur, Axial bead locks, Home made steel upper links. As the list grows i'll keep you posted.

Looks great, very nice work. How do you like your spare tire being on back like it is??

It doesn't bother me & hasn't got hung up at all. t am waiting for the arrival of my new bumper from ScalerFab. The new bumper will a little higher and have the tire offset to the right & a fuel can to the left.

It's spooling up on the bottom due to the bumper. I would like to get a higher bumper so it can be centered. How do these KMS winches hold up to water?

Nice build so far. There's just one thing that bothers me about it. Now, before I say what, it's your rig, so do what ya like. I don't particularly care for the look of two front bumpers. If it were me, I'd cut the 'body bumper' off and recess the bumper you have on there for a tighter fit. That's my 2 cents. Heck, the copper is worth more than the face value anyway. Keep up the good work!

Are you looking at any bumpers in particular yet?

I like this design, I just need a fair lead & 4 spots for LEDs, & 2 d rings. I'm also going to raise it up n set it back some.

So today I received my rear axle up grade parts. The HD bevel gears make a big difference, smoothed the rear right out. I'm using a Locked Up R/C spool, Waiting for the second one to show up for the front axle. The STRC axles are larger in diameter and the aluminum lock outs fit like a glove. I also took some advise & removed my lexan bumper. Then I was able to raise the Proline bumper up to center the winch line on the spool and slide in in about another 10mm. This will give me a better approach angle as well. I had a co-worker make me some recon G6 retro reflective stickers in preparation for the Coven Quest in October.

Made another bumper mod, found mini led buckets from my wraith kit and mounted them in my bumper. Then trimmed a little more of the lex an body . I now have the bumper as far in as it can go. I think this really worked out well.

Scalerfab rear bumper & bed rack came yesterday and fit perfectly. Troy did a outstanding job. So here are som pics.

I installed these wraith light buckets to hold my red led tail lights.

Captain Solo will be driving Scx10. I also started my wheel wells while I build my interior.

These black series figures have many points of movement. Should fit in perfectly. Now for the co-pilot, Luke or slave Leia?
