I think you're all right, but I find it hard to accept that the scratches occur so quickly after putting so many hours of preparation and finishing on the truck.

For your info, here what I've done and I'm pretty happy with the results:

The scratches (second window and roof edge):

The tools (100 grit sandpaper, polishing wheel on dremel and mag polish wax):

Use sandpaper only on deep scratches like my window.

The result:

A haze will be visible on certain angles, it is worse on clear lexan. This is why I have put the tint window sticker.

Scratches are a normal part of the game. It's gonna happen no matter what so have fun and don't give a shit about body damage. It's OFF ROAD. If scratches are the only damage you get, consider yourself lucky. Remember, you can always paint a new body, if you don't like battle scars!

My rigs have crabs...they never stop scratching. i see no reason to keep a shelf queen. If you do comps, keep a body for comps only and a thrasher for bashin'. Other than that, when you're done building take some glamor shots and tear it up!

This, even though it has yet to see any rocks (lack of time), my Telluride project already has a few scratches from flopping it off a curb when doing some minor testing on the parking lot curbs at work.
