35t on 2s i dont think you will be too excited over. Sure it will move along nicely but it wont have the umph for bouncing. On 3s just cruise around at 1/2 throttle (or whatever) then when you need more just give it a squeeze. |

Only with a bec. Check eBay; they're like $5 shipped.

stick with 27t if your staying with 2s. I have noticed that 35t and 15/87 gearing on 3s is a great happy medium for wheel speed and low end control

I do like the 27t but for some reason it don't have the tourque I need for the trailing or the smoothness of throttle can your recommend the best motor at a budget price best 3s battery that won't burn up ESC anything that will supply a perfect balance between tourque and wheel speed

There is a huge difference between the stock axial 27t and a holmes hobbies 27t. The HH 27t will have more than enough torque and wheel speed for trailing...any 3s battery is gonna need a BEC for the AE 2 esc....

Man this is painfull yes you can use a 35 turn motor it has more tourque then the 27t i just switched mine out. if its still not enough tourque thn replace the pinin gear, 3 cell is fun but then you have to get a bec and all new batteires if you don't already run 3cell

Holmes hobbies makes great motors. I currently run a really old crawlmaster 1000kv brushless outrunner. It's on its last legs currently so I am replacing it with a 35t Holmes torque master when I swing by the hobbyshop in a couple days.

U can run a 2s on HH 27t with decent results yes.....but all of these motors really shine on 3s. A 27t on 2s will have better wheel speed than a 35t on 2s...and in my experience..in your situation i would run the HH 27t on 2s and you will see a big improvement over the stock 27t.

If you don't already, get metal gears for your transmission or you will blow them a part in no time. I went through two plastic idler gears on a 27T with 3S in about 15 minutes, not including tear down and reassemble time. If you baby the hell out of your rig, you might be fine, but with a 35T, if you bind up im sure you'll break something.

35 thru 55 turn motor on 3s you will be happy.20 tooth down to 13 tooth would work.I run a 45T motor on 3s with 20/87 gearing.Works!

I run 3s on a 30k rpm large 550 motor to trail, crawl and climb for hours at a time with stock plastic gears. If not gunning the throttle when it is bound up and not going anywhere anyway means that I "baby it", then I'd better stock up on pampers! LOL Throttle control is key if you're like me and not made of money.
