Default Scx10 power wagon build

Started this build a while ago on another forum but I thought I'd share it here to

The new addition to the family

Pealed most of the decals off right out of the box

Added an actual spray in bed liner and painted the hub caps

Next up was cutting the bumpers off the body and installing some plastic axial bumpers. Front bumper mounted right up, the back bumper had to be extended to look right with the body. Also added aluminum steering links

Painted the light buckets and add tow hooks to the bumpers. The light buckets and tow hooks didn't stay on long tho

I was bored and waiting on a pay cheque to add more to the truck so I made a kind of replica camper like on my 1:1, and also a sled deck

Decided to try my hands at fabricating a metal sled deck. Turned out pretty decent in my eyes with my lack of welding ability. Made the deck entirely out of scrap combine parts

Got my pay cheque and of course headed to the hobby store and blew a bunch of it. I got rc4wd king 110mm shocks, warn winch with wired controller, and since I bought the winch I needed a better radio so I picked up a spektrum dx4c

Bored again waiting to buy more parts so I took my dremel and some thick foam and made tow mirrors for the rig. First set didn't turn out that great, I'm alot happier with how the second set turned out

Now also ordered jevne racing brick battery plate, gear head lift kit, and R2J Kustoms bent suspension links. And just out of boredom tonight I'm making some exhaust stacks out of the same foam I made the mirrors

Disassembled the rig and waterproofed it tonight. Dipped the servo, esc, receiver and winch controller in plastidip. Pulled apart the axles and transmission and marine greased them. Also made some exhaust stacks out of the same foam the mirrors are made out of. Definitely not a permanent mod, but I think I'll keep them on until one falls off from rolling the truck

Went and picked up a small tube bender and steel rod and started on making a flat bed/roll cage with a wooden bed for my rig. It's kind of like the honcho roll cage. It's going to be a slow work in progress, but here's what I have done up so far

Roll cage is painted and the deck is installed. I was going to stain the deck to make it look brand new and fancy, but I decided to go with the old weathered look instead, im pretty happy with the way it turned out. Let me know what your thoughts are on it. A few little tweeks left to do on it, then install and test it out.

Well JB weld didn't turn out to be strong enough for the cage and my driving style, so I scraped the first roll cage and started on a new one. I decided to make an exo cage asking with the roll cage, got it all mocked up, for now it's just taped together, but hopefully get it welded up at the end of the week when I get back to work.

Also removed the string in my winch and replaced it with some fishing line, I now have roughly 20ft of reach with the winch instead of 3 ft
