Well, was excited to take my truck out for the first time with my new Holmes Hand wound trailmaster today. 5 minutes into the trail it started to "cog" like a brushless would and lost power, wasn't hot or even warm. Crawled a rock and it stopped moving. If you spin a wheel it will take off but it won't start on it's own, and when it's moving it has no power whatsoever. I'm imagining this is a stuck brush or something hanging up in the motor, but I'm no expert in them. As can be imagined I'm pretty displeased with it, and I'll probably switch back to my $20 ebay can motors. Haven't had an issue with one of those lmao.

So, some updates to the truck. A new set of Dlux kingpins installed, new strc shock hoops, a new warn winch to replace my frankenstien bulldog winch (had to do some serious trimming on the grille to fit it!), and ordered new tires and foams (time again to try something new), and some short rod ends to try and pull some toe out from the truck. Hoping to have the tires at the beginning of the week.

New tires and foams are in, Rc4wd Gladiators and Ci lil nova firm/comp cut 4.50's, wanted to drop a bit of height out of the tire but keep the look and compound. Really liking them so far, excited to break them in

Here's a few comparison Pics for those interested. Keep in mind that those compasses are 2 years old

Replaced the Bmrc steering links with The Vp ones I should have just bought in the first place, the blue monkey links toe the truck out very far. Truck turns the best it has since putting the spools in it now.

Cheap chinese/japanese Hackmoto 35t lol. It's been really reliable for an $18 motor. And thank you!

Finally set about building a nicer rear bumper for the truck tonight. The rear I was running was a cut up rc4wd bumper with some sketchy mounts

The sliders have plates made in to it that line up with the factory style tamiya cab mounts, they're tapped so you just put screws through them. You can see the plates in the pictures with the body off. It has body posts too, I don't put pins in the front and I usually run one in the bed just to keep it from moving around.

Finally got the truck out of the house for a test run tonight, lost a center cap but was impressed with how well the Gladiators did for such a scale looking tire, and especially not broken in with fresh Ci's in them. Mud and loose dirt they aren't as good as the compasses were (no surprise) and the shorter height took a bit of getting used to, but I'm giving them a thumbs up!

Got to run the truck a few weekends ago, upgraded to CI deuces wilds afterwards, had some tire folding issues with the lil novas on the heavy truck.
