I remove the spacers and use any were from 10-40 wt depending on how I want my suspension to work. 10 will be fine, if it is reacting too fast go up.

Axial 30wt is thinner than Associated 20wt, it shouldn't be too stiff especially with the kit 7mm pistons. You may have something wrong with the shocks.

Which kit are we talking about?

Those Icon shocks and machined pistons should be pretty smooth, make sure they're not too full. This can cause them to rebound way too soon in the stroke and that could cause them to feel stiff or packed.

When the shock is filled correctly you should be able to compress it fully with out the spring and it should rebound slowly out on its own.
