Yes, front axle on my wraith Axial universals are perfect... locker never failed meaning stoped me driving my rig. Found this cracked locker when I upgraded my ring & pinion Last week.

The only time you need the gasket is if you're building ring gear with stock Axial plastic drive cup and iron cross insert or the old school AX10 green aluminum locker and cross-pin setup. None of the metal spools use the gasket.

Skip the Vanquish lockers, they are pita to setup and the setscrews don't properly engage the ends of the axle shafts.

I started with these end up going to a grip fab locker in the front . Kept rear hr just to see wear etc. still no issues.

I've got HR spools in 3 currie axles and all are holding up just fine. One of them spent time in the back of a Yeti and is now on the back of a Wraith with a 550 sized short course motor that's seen a pretty decent amount of 3s. I like these spools a lot. Cheap and strong. If I ever manage to break one I'll just buy another.. Cheaper than an axle shaft!

Could have been a defective part from the beginning.
My lhs had to send a couple HH spools that weren't quite right, no big deal I guess is was a first run miss hap or something, I went to HR's because I didn't want to wait for the next batch of HH to come in.
I will say this, the HH lockers have absolutely o slop, if anything happens to my HR's I'll go HH again.
Any one can have an issue here or there with a machined product.
