I went with vanquish and love it. There's zero play because there's a set screw that clamps down on each drive shaft. Check out my build at "what does a $2,200 scx10 look like"

Is anyone using the HR's in their curries? I would like to cut back on the cost alittle.
My drivetrain, and all gears are HD, maybe the axial lockers with plastic housing is a good thing?
Thanks

totally understand on the price. if though, you decide to go with the Vanquish you will love it. so if that helps justify the purchase, I don't know, but if you do but them you'll have zero slop. the below pic... those 2 set screws go in the middle of the floating locker and tighten down right onto the shafts. zero play, really cool design.

if you look through the grease in the below pic, you can see where the 2 set screws go. they tighten down on the shafts. that way, the shafts never have an opportunity to hollow out... because they are already tightened down.

I have the HR spools in my curries and I didn't use gasket on the ring gear but you should shim pinion gears.

Hay man,
So these will fit in both scx10 stock axles, and currie with out any issues?
Thanks, actually RPP doesn't sell them, I like to do my business with them, Gonna order up 3 sets of the HR's 2 for stock axles, 1 set for curries. I wish I could afford 3 sets of Vanquish lockers...

all depends on the gear mesh of ring & pinion, on most of the HR lockers I've had, no gasket needed. However the last HR locker I bought I had to use the gasket to get my Axial HD OD gears to mesh/turn freely. After opening up my AR60 axles and finding one of my HR lockers cracked I won't waste my money on anymore lockers from HR.... Locked-up lockers from now on out..

Wow, I see why you would change to locked up, but I already have the HR's just using the stock ratio HD gears.

Cracked! WOW! I'm curious where it cracked and at what temperature you're typically running in.

I use the HR's and I just can't imagine them cracking! I could see them wearing out an axle though.
