Default Will these rc4wd beadlocks fit my scx10

I'm out of province now so I can't check my rig but the hobby shop told me these will fit.

There is no hex fitting, will they fit?

Yes they will fit.
Just remove your Hex and leave the pin..
Good to go..

That's great thanks. Is there more of an advantage to having hex hubs or is it the same.

The advantage of the hex is it stays on the axle and keeps the pin captured. The pin always likes to fall out when removing wheels with pin drive.

Is there a hub with a hex fitting you can swap in?

You can use a shock o-ring to keep the pin in it's location:

RC4WD OEM Steel 1.9 Stock Beadlock Wheel Hexes (4)

RC4WD 1.9"/2.2" 6 Lug Steel Wheel Hex Hub with Brake Rotor

A few other ones too for adding additional width. Just be sure to get the ones for the 6 lug wheels and not the 5 lug.

I have those wheels on my SCX10, they fit fine, but I didn't like the hex nuts on the outside or the pin drive hubs. So I bought the 6-lug brake rotor hex hubs to eliminate both problems.

The O-rings behind the pin can cause some binding at all the axles. How much bind will depend on how big the O-ring is and how much it gets compressed with the wheel installed.

I love those rims, and have had them on a few different rigs. With the pin setup my fronts would bind if I tightened them too much, didnt know about the hex setup they offer. A perfect wheel if the hex is used, IMHO Looking at your photo, I see they are the spooked rim on both pieces, the early ones had a spooked front and a solid back piece that looked like a OEM rim. I used the solid OEM look myself.

Awesome. Thank you
I searched for adapters, but it didn't come up on RPP's site.
It would be nice if they listed them as suggested, like they do with the VP wheels/hubs.

I use the first silver hex hub adapter, the brake rotor version is very nice too.

X2, I recently bought a set of the new version where front and back pieces have holes in both (early version several years ago the back piece was not cut out), I always swap to hex adapters. They are a great looking beadlock.

Another option for some decent aluminum hexes are the Proline Racing clamping hexes. They have a standard width and one that's a little thicker as well. I use them all the time on my SCX10's

Pro-Line PRO-2 Front Clamping Hex 6097 for 2WD Slash

Pro-Line PRO-2 Rear Clamping Hex 6098 for 2WD Slash

Yes!

I don't like the RC4WD wheel hexes because all the little machined points sticking up chewing at your finger tips while assembling wheels and tires. The faux brake rotor versions would be very nice as you can see the back side is nice and smooth because the screw heads are on the wheel side, not the hub side, but these add 2mm to width on both sides, iirc the Slash front 2wd hexes add 3mm per side? This type of hex hub makes wheel/tire assembly easier because there's no nut to hold on the other side while holding everything else in alignment. I prefer the look of the little nuts on outside, they look like lugnuts. I've drilled couple sets of HR (Hot Racing) 1.9 wheel hexes that come with 2mm hardware, to use 2.5mm hardware same as RC4WD and did not end up with the sharp edges all over that the silver RC4WD hexes have. Starting at post #172 in my Honcho thread there are pics and how to drill out your hubs too.

Natedog's Honcho kit build

I originally bought the silver RC4WD hexes just for the hardware when I drilled my HR 1.9 steel beadlocks.
RC4WD OEM Steel 1.9 Stock Beadlock Wheel Hexes (4)

These hexes needs to have the screw head area drilled from 0.173" factory to 0.177" to clear the slightly fatter screw heads of most 2.5mm screws...easy to do, but takes time and the hubs still have the sharp edges.

EDIT: Post #287 you can see Vaterra Super Swamper mounted on one with the hex pin hub, I now have all four mounted with RC4WD silver hubs drilled out, next time I'll buy their faux brake rotor hubs and go back to stock width wheel hexes instead of Traxxas wider hexes.

I"m using Traxxas Slash 2wd front wheel hexes on my SCX10 Honcho, they snap onto the axle cross pins and stay put nicely while addling iirc 3mm width per side. RC4WD 1.9"/2.2" 6 Lug Steel Wheel Hex Hub with Brake Rotor is a great way to get hex hubs and not have fingertip eating sharp edges on the backside:

I really didn't want the rotors, but it was the only 12mm hex hub in stock that was threaded fro screws instead of drilled for using the hex nuts on the face of the wheels. They look nice but also a little odd on with no caliper.

Put a dab of grease on the pin to keep it from falling out.
