I want this truck to look like a brush truck that the fire department uses when they have a forest fires or a grass fire. I have 0 skills in modding parts or knowing what parts to buy and achieve the look I'm wanting. Please help with whatever information you can, and yes....I'm a noob. I'm gonna source the lights from MyTrickRC, plus they've got a decal pack to go along with lights and light bar. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

You could work on putting a interior in, from the spawn or another vehicle. I would paint the tool box to look a little more scale. Pro-line makes a ton of scale parts like a shovel and what not. check out RPP's scale section

I would start by finding pictures of USFS and BLM etc. trucks. Figure out what apparatuses I need and how to work them into the build. You will have to take some liberty in the fact that most brush crew trucks are extended or king cab vehicles, so maybe a smaller state agency would be more feasible depending on how real you want to get. You could also learn how to work with styrene and build a custom interior, bed, etc. Another thing I like to do is repupose items. For instance, you could take a roll of wire, take off and save the wire. Paint the reel aluminum and then roll the wire back on. Devise a nozzle out of some styrene or tubing and bam, you have a hose and reel. Use your imagination and keep you eyes open everywhere you go. Never know what you might find. Overall, I'm happy with the installation. Fire Star Machine Company gets the props for this install. Nice looking kit. There were 2 links that I couldn't install, have get a bracket the mounts on the front axle. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I'm making mine into brush truck, like you'd see National Forestry Service or at a local volunteer fire department. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Here's my mock up of my brush truck bed. Made out of 4"x4"x8" aluminum angle plate. It's just taped together now, wondering what to use when I go to put it together for the final time? Any suggestions would be helpful. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

A Dinky cantilever rear suspension would free up that bed interior. Sent from the magical mystery box |

That aluminum is gonna end up pretty heavy, you though about using styrene? Won't be as strong (as flat aluminum) but with some reinforcements it would be tough enough. And it's easier to work with, scissors, knives and your glue of choice. Plus you can get styrene in all kinds of shapes like angle, round, square and tube .

Scraped the whole aluminum bed plan. Gonna use the original bed and build the tank and hose reel around it. Like I said, just a mock up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
