Default Marc's SCXU4 Build

Hi All,

Inspired by a fellow U4 racer down here with his Rock Bouncer platform Twin Hammer caged SCX10 and buying a SCX10 Slider of a mate, I built this SCXU4 for my son to race in 1.9 Trail Pro class in U4RC in Western Australia. SCX10 with a Twin Hammers Cage.

It is finished now but I never had time to post the build up or photos, so over the next few days I will post a build thread

Slider was built with the following parts:

ALTD896 Designs Aluminium Chassis
93mm G-Made Shocks
Junfac Drive Shafts
Robinson Racing Steel Gear Transmission
32P Spur / Pinion
Traxxas Revo Links with Jato / Revo Ends (WB is 12.5")
Axial HD UD diff gears
Holmes Hobbie Locker (Rear)
HPI Spider gear mod in front diff with 1M oil
HR CV front drive shafts
Axial Aluminium Knuckles and C-Hubs
Hitec 7955 Servo

Below is me mocking up the Twin Hammers cage to see what's the best mounting points

Next Stage was mount up the Cage, I ended up pivoting at the rear, cutting the bonnet cage and fixing permanently.

Roller stage was with:

ALTD896 Designs Custom Beadlocks
Axial 8 Hole 1.9 Wheels
Pitbull 1.9 AT Growlers with 2 stage foams
Vanquish SLW hubs (Track is out at 10.4")

That is a pretty good start. I like the way you are going with this.

Mounting the rear cage, I modified plastic servo horns for pivots.

Used chassis braces and spacers to get the cage sitting right

Stripped back to chassis and painted black

Made Aluminium body panels and installed a HPI Interior.

Made up a spare wheel from RC odd bits

Thanks rocpede,

Pretty happy with the build, my son loves it

Sway bars all round and lighter shock springs are the next mod to make it handle the U4RC tracks better.

Cheers
Marc

Thanks guys, My 8yo son loved the look of the Twin Hammers but I wanted him to race in a slower class to learn how to race rather then bash at the grass park. He is doing well and getting better every U4RC Australia race meet. Great bunch of people with great attitudes to match. It makes for a great social day

Thanks
Marc

Thanks Screamer, hopefully with more laps on it and my son gaining more race time it should get better and quicker.
