| Wrangler LED headlight + electrical works
Hi, folks! Note: below is applicable for Raspberry Pi, it does not apply to normal RC receiver. I finished making LED headlight for my Wrangler. Took some time to figure out robust way that will allow to put more payload, and to allow more current output. I ended up with using Adafruit DC motor hat, stacking it on top of PWM hat. The driver allows 4 channels 1 Amp current each, which should be more the enough to power LED. Software (btw, same code as for PWM driver) allows to adjust voltage. I used two 3$ LED finger-size flashlights, from which I took the head part with glass and reflector (I will later add photos of lamps themselves), 1.5V. Note: it looks like mine Chinese flashlights did not have any resistor and were relying just on battery self-resistance to limit current, or resistor was in battery holder which I did not use, therefore watch out for over-current. Always use Amper-meter. Light is controlled with same PS4 controller as car itself. Plan is to add more lights, including LED bar (I want to make it myself though, rather then buying). |
