SCX10 Rubicon Unlimited Kit out of stock or....?

I got some hobby shop bucks for Christmas and have been eyeballing a rubicon unlimited kit but is seems to out of stock everywhere. I am hoping that it was just a wildly popular Christmas present to give. Please don't tell me they are going to quit making it.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I will call lhs and ask them as well. I was wanting to use my lhs gift card but I also really really want a rubicon unlimited kit. Might consider the rtr and re builds as I break stuff.

I really hope that they are not going to discontinue this kit. I have taken a long bashing road....with lots of reading here....to come to the conclusion that this is the platform I think I will enjoy the most (perhaps my wife and daughter as well).
I understand that I can buy the rtr and beat the snot out of it and replace as needed but I would rather have some of the kit upgrades to begin with.
Will have to wait and call the lhs and double check if I can get a kit ordered.
Just my luck....wait and wait to figure it out and then the football gets yanked away....not that I don't have options though......

I called Axial yesterday and they confirmed it has been discontinued as of a few months ago.. A real bummer since I have a 1:1 Jeep JK Unlimited and really wanted to start with that kit.

I ended up going with the G6 Kit as they said it's the closest thing to it with the exact same upgrades besides a different body and the overall length being .3" smaller coming in at 12" compared to the 12.3" on the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Kit

They did however assured me the Jeep 4 Door Hard Top body is NOT discontinued and will fit the G6 Kit.

This was ultimately the deciding factor and in the end it served a purpose I initially overlooked. I can use the G6 body it comes with and have my wife make a mesh net looking rear top to make it look like a 2DR Jeep and use that 90% of the time. This way there's no worries of it getting trashed.

And I'll order the 4 door hard top body to match our real 4DR Hardtop Jeep.

Well good luck and I hope you find one. I just picked a kit up and am in the middle of building mine right now. Usually you can get a lhs to scrounge one up if you beg and plead. Does the rtr version not come with the hard top?

I stopped by my lhs yesterday and asked them if they could order the rubicon unlimited kit and they looked it up and said it was not available. Bummer. I looked around for a while and decided on the G6 unlimited rtr. A jk body and top are on the way among some other goodies!

According to rpp hobby the g6 kit is being discontinued also.

So happy I got mine back in Nov. $279 free ship and free led light kit from go nitro. If I knew they will be discontinued, I would have bought 2. Now they are like $329 and up on eBay.

Yep.
While checking at the lhs, Axial only had 2 wrangler kits available currently...G6 and ... I can't remember the other one.
I already have some goodies on the way.
It is interesting to think about what the next "thing" might be.
Worked today but got out early enough to get an ec3 parallel battery cable (saddle pack batteries), MIP hex tools, (2) 3s 2200 mah batts and a castle bec.
Tomorrow afternoon(let's be real) will be fun!!

I am not a seasoned rc'er by any means, but I would have thought that the discontuation of this kit would have made some headlines, ruffled feathers, or garnered some threads, at the least.
It is not like the SCX10 platform is going away, but still.

Wow! I'm surprised to see this. Sure enough, Tower Hobbies shows the G6 as DISCONTINUED, as well as the Dingo, and doesn't have the Jeep Rubicon Unlimited Kit listed any longer. You can still get the full body sets, though, which is all that really matters. Maybe they'll make kits available that will include the Nukizer body or Mighty FC, or whatever bodies are currently the most popular. Still, it's kind of like the end of an era, seeing the Dingo kit get yanked from the shelves, so to speak. I feel like writing a poem and calling it Ode to the Dingo.

Maybe we're seeing the first stages of the long-anticipated updated SCX-10 platform? Why else would Axial apparently be clearing the shelves of existing stock? For something new is my guess. Any other conspiracy theorists out there? Or better yet, someone with the inside scoop?

Anyone aware of any scx10 kit in the making? Looks like they also discontinued the dingo kit as well as the wrangler one.

The link that Jimmy1979 posted (Big Squid rc) says that an scx10 v2 is in the works. That will be interesting I am sure.
I got the g6 unlimited rtr ( shiny lights mmmmm) and am doing the saddle pack batteries now. I want to try the saddle packs primarily for run time. I can see taking this along on boat trips on the river and having a blast on some of the islands that we will be beaching on. 120vac is a luxury on the river. Not that a little Honda put-put genny is out of the question.
I am looking forward to moe info on the venture fj. We currently have 3 axial vehicles in the garage and will likely have a few more in the near future, I just am interested in the completion aspect in the platform.
