| Boom Racing Links
Hi All, I picked up a second hand honcho and it currently has integy links in the rear. I don't really like the look of them (and they are really really scratched) so I was wondering if these will fit the honcho. Boom Racing Axial SCX10 Aluminum Rear Chassis Links Parts - 4 Pcs Set Gun Metal BR233009 They dont seem to have dimensions listed, but hoping someone will know. |

On the boom racing site it gives more details. https://www.boomracingrc.com/axial/s...n-metal-108630 So now im more confused.. does this mean if I buy it i only use 2 and the other 2 are wasted? Ps. It had 4 link suspension in the rear. Last edited by Spunkybob; 03-02-2016 at 07:53 PM. |

The kit comes with two 122mm links, these are the front lower links for the 12.3 (313mm) wheelbase. And two 130mm links, these are the rear lower links for the 12.3" (313mm) wheelbase Should be the proper length for the 12.3" (313mm) Honcho. They've got some typos in the description and the 122mm will also fit another wheelbase, but if the lengths given are correct you should be fine |

yeah, the top/upper 3-link and 4-link links are different. you can get the TR Link Set (#AX30550) from Axial with all the parts needed to convert both upper (3-link or 4-link) and lower links to aluminum, but they're just standard round links. Or you can buy the Boom Racing set then use the TR Link instructions as a guide to buy the parts needed to convert just the upper links. Axial 12.3" TR Link Set on e-Bay. I had to do some more digging to see what was being used where on the 12.3" wheelbase. It appears the Boom Racing kit #BR233009 is a rear link set with 2 upper and 2 lower links. Short links are the upper and longer links are the lower. The front lower links are the same as the Boom Racing rear upper, but the front upper links will be shorter by about 10mm judging by the Axial TR link instructions. The reason Asiatees is offering the BR233009 4-piece kit and BR233008 3-piece kit together is to upgrade the whole SCX10 to aluminum links, 3-link upper/4-link lower on the front and 4-link upper/4-link lower on the rear. If you buy two rear kits the front will stay the stock upper 3-link, but you'll have a spare set of 130mm lower rear links. If you buy their BR233009 and BR233008 combo you'll still have the upper 3-link on the front but all your upper and lower links with be matching aluminum. If you want to convert the front upper to a 4-link STRC has a kit, but they make no mention of wheelbase or how long the upper link are and you would need to buy the rod ends and pivot balls. You could also use Boom Racing's 5mm x 85mm links along with the correct Axial rod ends and pivot balls for the front upper 4-link conversion. Just depends on what you want to do with the front upper links |

I really like the look of the boom racing ones. So 100% will fit the honcho wheel base then. Guess ill buy both parts and do the whole lot. As mentioned above when i got the hobcho it had integy rear links but the lower and upper are both the same length so i think the guy did it wrong and i dont have the stock plastic ones. I suppose all it really does is rotate the axle further backwards but i want it to be correct and look good. Im rebuilding the entire truck (bearings all rusted etc and the lights dont work) but other then that its all good. Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk | |
