You've still got the plastic links on there. You'll want something beefier with those tires and more power anyway. May as well shorten it up an inch and four link the front while you're at it. The font axle could use a little bit of clocking, too.

I like the theme you're going after.

Yeah. Its all plastic now. The shorter links are sitting at home now waiting for me to get back from NY. I will put them on and 4 link the front and clock the front end a bit. But it may not need it. In that pic the front y link is loose in the truss piece. Biggest issue im having is painting this body. No one has a red primer in a spray can anymore. The idea was to lay a basecoat of the black poly paint down and top that with some red sandable primer. Really hard to find that stuff now a days though. Hopefully i can figure something out on that front.

Try good ole Walmart for red primer. If not maybe an auto parts store. Trucks looking good.

Your might consider hitting it with this: Duplicolor CP199 Adhesion Promoter Adhesion Promoter Clear Primer 11 Oz. Aerosol - Walmart.com

and then this: Duplicolor DAP1694 General Purpose Sandable Primer Surfacer Red Oxide Primer 12 Oz. Aerosol - Walmart.com

from the inside

and then this on the exterior:

NO-SHINE EXTERIOR MATTE FINISH CLEAR COAT AEROSOL - Hobby Recreation Products

My thought was using the Poly paint as a primer so the paint wont crack. I wonder if hobby Lobby has the poly paint I need?
And on the outside for the scale look.

And Walmart doesnt have red primer.
It seems crazy to me that they dont.

Went to get the body in the last stages of mounting before paint.
I need some longer body post mounts. Which sucks.
I also put the shorter links on the rear of the truck and now the driveshaft is all the way in and the suspension will not compress.
So I have to figure that out also cause im sure the front is gonna do the same thing

With the female portion of the driveshaft attached to the tranny, hold your cutting device of choice in one hand and apply some slight pressure against the female shaft. Give it some slow throttle and pick up speed if you want. The shaft is hollow, so when it finally cuts through don't cut your thumb. Clean the new cut with some high grit sandpaper the same way.

I'd start at maybe 1/4" and go from there.

Finally decided to mount the body.

Got started painting the body. I put a few thin coats of the red on. Will let it sit all day tomorrow in the heat. Then maybe spray it again.

So this older Grave Digger truck didnt have the red headlights, but I think im going to add them to this truck.
Traxxas released a kit for there 1/10th scale digger truck a few years ago.
I think it would look pretty cool

I present you Digger. Just need a few more things to complete the look. Vinyl and some bumpers. Then its mud time.

Looks good but I would trim those arches right out and lose the side boards, looks a bit too cartoonish

Looking good, since it's not an exact replica I would add the red lights you want. After all the old digger was just your inspiration to build your own. Wonder how it would look with gloss red rims or even yellow to follow your inspired theme? I'll be starting my mudder here soon thanks to threads like this.

Im prolly going to do the yellow after I put the yellow vinyl on the doors.

I think im gonna paint the lift kit black, the silver stands out way to much.

Found some better closer pics of the front and rear bumpers.
The front is just a tube
The rear is a flat bumper with a Pintle hitch on it.
So luckily rc4wd makes a pintle hitch.
I will be making my own bumpers since I havent seen anything even close to what I want.
