My new Axial SCX-10 Deadbolt

Got my new Axial SCX-10 Deadbolt and have been having lots of fun for the past four days! Sure glad I finally decided to get into an RC crawler/trail truck. So far, it is mostly stock. I did the 4-link setup on the front using the parts in the spare parts bag. That seems to help when going up and down obstacles at an angle. Not a real dramatic change but it is noticeable. I replaced the 13T pinion with an 11T pinion. Again, not a big change but it helps this beginning RCer move slowly over the rocks and bricks that I have found laying around. Other than that, I added the simple LED controller so I could put white LEDs in the front bumper and red LEDs in the rear bumper which I added. I'm not to excited about the Axial rear plate bumper that I got but I'll live with it for now. I might shorten it a bit with my Dremel. Got a chance to go walking for a couple miles while out geocaching and walking the dogs. This RC is sure a lot of fun. Kind of like going to the Moab Easter Jeep Safari every day without the travel and expense of a real 1:1 vehicle. I haven't moved the battery tray to the front yet. I was thinking about getting another battery tray to mount in the front and leave the one that came with the truck in the rear. I would like to be able to keep both of my 2S 25C 5000mAh batteries in the truck while out on a run. When one dies, I can disconnect it and connect the other, turn around and head back. Anyone else tried running the truck with two batteries - one in front and one in back? I still need to cut off that Tamiya plug and solder on a Deans connector I'll do that in a few days when I'm working on a small ham radio project and I need to use the soldering iron.
I've been reading here in the forums about all the cool upgrades that everyone is doing to their SCX-10. Think I'll hold off for a while until I see what breaks or wears out then upgrade at that point. I'm not planning on running in any G6 style events soon but will be running a lot on hiking trails and stuff like that. I do want to work on making some scale accessories soon.
Again, I'm very excited and I'm looking forward to many hours of fun with my new RC. These forums are great!

I love mine had it about 6 months now and have pretty much upgraded at the suspension parts and added some weight to the wheels. Made a huge difference with all the aluminum

Nice. I love my Deadbolt (Cheapbolt). I have had mine for over a year now and have upgraded it here and there. It just keeps getting better.
