Default Deadbolt transmission spur and pinion

I bought my daughter a rolling deadbolt chassis for Christmas and while I was installing motor/electronics I noticed that the spur gear is a course tooth and not fine like my son's dingo or my original scx10 truck? So now she has a running vehicle with no pinion yet and I wanted to get the pinion today at my lhs. Problem is he doesn't have deadbolt part's just "normal" scx10 fine tooth part's, can I just buy a fine tooth spur and pinion from a dingo or honcho and install it? To me everything seems identical except this new course spur gear? Axial didn't change the internal transmission part's also did they?

It's 32p? If my memory is right I think all my tamiya vehicles use 32p also. I'll see what I have extra in the tamiya part's bin.and 11tooth that seems geared for rock crawling to me? On the other two scc10 I run stock spurs with 20t pinion, we trail and mud run so no rocks

THE 32p spur is 56t instead of the 80t 48p of the dingo

Me my daughter and son all went out today with our scx10's, they both have 45turn motors and it seems the deadbolt has little less torque and wheel speed compared to my son's with the stock 48pitch spur and 20tooth pinion. I'm gonna order the 48 pitch stuff and swap hers over

thats because the 80t 48p spur with the 20t 48p pinion has a ratio of 4.0:1, not the greatest for crawling.. the 32p 56t spur with the 11t 32p pinion will give a ratio of 5.09:1 and that is why it doesnt seem to have quite the wheel speed of the sons...

In the long run with a 27 turn to 45 turn, the 5.09 ratio will help them last longer and run cooler...and have better low end resolution for better crawling..

you dont specify what battery you are running, Nimh, 2s lipo, 3s lipo, etc... you can gain the wheel speed back by upping the battery to a 3s lipo providing the ESC will handle it...volt up and gear down will make for a longer life on motors

The transmissions are the same for the most part but the Deadbolt uses a different top shaft, slipper plates, and pads.
