| SCX10 II with an old SXC10 Rubcion body?
I am still rather new to the hobby. I mainly am setting up a truck for my 10 year old. We have an older original SCX10 RTR with the silver Rubicon body, but the transmission is shot. I was thinking of having him build a kit with the new SCX10 and better components and reusing all the electronics from the original truck. My Question: Will the Rubicon body be a direct fit on the new SCX10 II Cherokee chassis, or are the posts in different places and therefore hard to transition the body to the new frame platform? Thanks for all advice! |

Both have the same wheelbase, so other than swapping rear body mounts should be good educational platform. Odd question, but why not just fix the trans on the scx10? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I could replace the trans on the SCX10, but the car is pretty beat up and I would think the SCX10 2 has a lot of improvements?

| SCX10 II with an old SXC10 Rubcion body?
I'm starting this same build in a few days (AX04035 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited on SCX10 II) - I'm new to the hobby as well. After little research in to this build, it looks like a little customization is needed to get the front bumper to sit back/closer to the grill (body looks to sit back a bit further on the SCX10 II vs the SCX10). This is a nicest write-up I've found so far. http://www.axialracing.com/blog_posts/1073902418 Have you come across any other info on this build? I'll keep you updated as I work through it - hope it helps! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by jeepingbean; 01-25-2017 at 10:32 PM. |

The Rubicon body fits on the new SCX II great! I run one on mine during U4 racing. The body mounts are not interchangeable between the scx and scx II, but the kit does include a small variety body mounts to fit the older body.

Glad I found this thread. I've been wondering the same thing, as I'm a fan of Jeep Wrangler's and the like.

Step 1: Hard Top cut out and ready for paint. Tedious! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So far, the Windshield frame has proven to be the most difficult piece to cut out. The "score with x-acto knife" method was very helpful and made the process a bit easier and the cut looked much smooth.
