|  Used axial scx10 deadbolt
I bought a axial scx10 deadbolt off Craigslist. It looks used but the motor (35T) is new. I believed the rest is all stocked. My question is , do they have an off/on switch on it? What other upgrades can I make ?

If it's a later model AE-5 Speed controller it does not have an on/off switch. They did away with it. There are tons of upgrades! Move the battery to the front (there are tons of Youtube videos on this). Upgrade the suspension but pay attention when purchasing new links as the Deadbolt is a 12 inch wheelbase and most upgrades you find will be for 12.3 inch. Upgrade the steering with new linkage, C-hubs and Knuckles, put some new tires on it and enjoy the heck out of it! When (not if, but when because that ESC will die) get yourself a HobbyWing WP1080. Upgrades for the SCX10 are available for pretty much every single part on the truck. |

I bought an SCX10 Deadbolt a while back, ran it stock for a while (trailing, light crawling) and had a blast. The stock SCX10 is plenty capable, though you'll see a few areas pretty quickly that may need some upgrades, like steering links, steering servo, and just whatever breaks on you. A member here made a super fun thread about pushing a mostly stock SCX10 as far and hard as possible, seemingly pretty much to prove you don't have to sink tons of $$ to have a good time and keep up with the $$ custom trucks.
