| Aluminum Suspension Links Upgrade
I'm looking to buy Aluminum Suspension Links for my SCX10. It is a 12" (305mm) wheelbase. Any recommendations? I found these so far. Would they work?: Hot-Racing SCX305TL01 Aluminum 4-Link Set 12 Axial SCX10 (New!) | eBay How would they go on the front? The stock setup is 3 link on the front and 4 on the back. This kit is 4 link both front and rear. How would this work? Any responses are appreciated. |

Stay clear of the Hot Racing links. The plastic eyes become worn out and loose. Theres no rebuilding them. Sent from Mars.

Why not buy Titanium, it's stronger and slide over rocks better than aluminum. We have the links you need: 92MM TI LINKS *84.5mm Titanium Upper Links for SCX10 |

You will also need to get a 4 link mount for the front axle. I am assuming you have an Axial plastic one on the rear axle. Just buy the spare of that part. Or you can find an after market one.

There is lots of information on making links here at RCC. Personally I make mine from delrin tube, with titanium all thread screwed right through the center of it. You can use stainless if you want to save money also. Anyway point being for $30.00 in material I was able to make 4 sets, that's 16 links, and have material left over. Simple hand tools are all that required. I guess there are lots of reasons to buy premade and as many to make your own. In my case the stock dingo links did not center the wheels, and all the after market ones where made the exact same length, so I read the forum and made my own. Once I was committed, it was a cheap and easy upgrade for the rest of the fleet. Either way I would never use aluminum ,at least on lowers, again as it doesn't side very well, I don't think the soft brake line was much better. Stainless or titanium, if something is going to break it will be the rod ends so it comes down to cost, availability and if you want to ad weight. I would think titanium lowers and aluminum uppers would be a nice set up.

I've made steering links from allthread and sleeved it with SS tube after reading instructions here. It's pretty simple and if you take your time it looks just as good as something you can buy. Do you use the same technique with Derlin tube over the Ti allthread or do you tap solid rod? Also, where do you source the Ti allthread? I love me some titanium.
