| New build... What parts to use... Hmmmm
So I have a couple older ax10's sitting on the shelf. I want to make one of them a scx10 on 1.9 tires. First off I'm just now getting back into these guys so I'm a bit of a born again noob. I already ordered a chassis and have wheels and tires. What I'm looking for is to get rid of the plastic 3 link and use a steel or aluminum 4 link? Also what mount would I need on the axles to swap to a 4 link?

The truss / link brackets should already be there on your AX/SCX axles. If not you can always get some stock plastic ones like shown below or get some aftermarket aluminum ones. Last edited by HDMM; 04-05-2018 at 07:04 AM. |

Mine are like these. Axial SCX10 AX10 Front Rear Axle Set STRC Knuckles & C-Hubs They just have the ball/ cup for the 3 link. Ax80043 is the part # I believe I'd need. Tho it comes with a bunch of other junk on the tree. |

Also, I wouldn't bother with the Axial aluminum link kits, Ive used them and still have them on one SCX10, but the rods ends wear out almost immediately and then the links are sloppy. I'd go with a SSD or Vanquish link kit. |

Another option is SSD axle housings. They come with both a 3 link for the front, and 4 link for the rear with each housing. They look great and are very durable. For links you can build some that are virtually indestructable with Revo rod ends (5347), 8/32 allthread, and 1/4" stainless tubing. |

After going through this process myself recently I'd recommend getting a 'heavy' link truss from Atees as you'll be wanting weight down on the axles, https://www.asiatees.com/display?id=...al&model=SCX10. 44g for £10... I also went the make my own links route and added RC4WD link ends. M3 threaded rod and 6mm aluminium tube, jobs a good 'un. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk |
