Default Light Bars

Anyone tried a light bar other than the axial universal? I am curious if something like the Gear Heads trail torch or the like would fit in the roof rack.

A 5" bar should fit.

I got myself this one. It clamps onto the front of the roof rack. I haven't installed it yet though. If I want to run multiple light kits/bars, how do I power them all? If it was just one, I'd hook up to my receiver, but what do I do if it's 2 or more?

You would need to take out the stubs on the sides and then some. IMO not worth it with a VP light bar.

It says the opening is 5.2, the gear head 5" bar is 5.24 - may work

Has anyone tried that GearHead 5" bar yet to see if it fits without much trimming?

Axial has an option already:

Axial Racing - Universal Rigid Light Bar Set

The medium sized light bar from the kit should be a direct bolt-in.

I'm planning on getting it installed this weekend on my SCX10 II, and can post pics when that is installed.

Yes Axial has one I'm just not fond of it so looking for alternatives. It seemed as others said that the Gearhead was close so was just wondering if anyone has tried it.

Axial one looks good if you install a led strip instead of regular 5mm led.

Does anyone know what size the VP light bar side screws are? M2,5, 2,6 or some size using ye olde legacy measuring system? They are larger than M2 and smaller than M3.
2.5mm unless they are English threads. then they may be #4-40.

This is on 9v, had a hard time taking pictures of them on 12v, was just to bright for my camera to take descent pictures without messing with the exposure.

Buy them on eBay, they sell them in rolls, you just cut up the length you want, and solder wires to them.
